Greetings | Saludos | salaam | 問候 |lời chào hỏi| salamu,

This week, crews finished paving S Columbian Way and S Alaska St between Beacon Ave S and Martin Luther King Jr Way. Crews will begin striping the same section of S Columbian Way and S Alaska St in about three weeks.

Please see below for additional details about upcoming work.

Upcoming work
Weekend work at the Beacon Ave S/S Columbian Way intersection requires detours.
Grinding at Beacon Ave S and S Columbian Way Intersection
  • Work is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 7 AM to 2 PM
  • Expect delays due to traffic holds
  • The intersection will have traffic control:
    • Northbound traffic on Beacon Ave S will be detoured to 24th Ave S via S Ferdinand St
    • Southbound traffic on Beacon Ave S will be able to travel through the intersection. However, during grinding work, traffic will be temporarily held for up to 10 minutes at a time
    • Eastbound traffic on S Columbian Way will be detoured onto Columbian Drive S, S Ferdinand St, and 24th Ave S
    • Westbound traffic on S Columbian Way will be able to travel through the intersection. However, during grinding work, traffic will be temporarily held for up to 10 minutes at a time
Biking through the work area: During this work, crews will need to close sections of the bike lanes on S Columbian Way to ensure they have enough space to complete work safely. We ask people biking to merge with general traffic when riding through the work area.
