Father Kevin will become St. Francis of Assisi's new pastor effective July 1.
Father Hargaden, is a native of Milledgeville, where he grew up attending Sacred Heart Church. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Georgia Tech. As a seminarian, he earned a master’s degree in sacred Scripture and a master of divinity degree from St. Vincent Seminary in
Ordained in 1999, he served his first assignment as a parochial vicar at St. Joseph’s Church in Marietta. In 2002, he became a parochial vicar at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta. From January 2003 to June 2004 he served as a chaplain at Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell until he was assigned as a parochial vicar in Lawrenceville.
In July of 2007, Father Kevin Hargaden became a Pastor when he was assigned to St. Peter’s Church in LaGrange. He served 4 years there and then was transferred to St. Matthew’s Church in Tyrone where he has been their shepherd for over 10 years.
