PROGRAM SCHEDULE

WORKSHOPS

We have added two exciting workshops to the conference. The cost is $25/each to join; you may register for these when you register for the conference. If you are already registered for the conference, please contact us and we will add you to the workshop you are interested in.
Nature Journaling for Fire Situational Awareness – Look Up, Down and Around

The workshop will have two one-hour sessions on May 24th and 26th from 2:30 - 3:30 pm MDT. 
An Intro to Using StoryMaps for Wildfires

Option one: Tuesday May 25th from 2:30 - 3:30 pm MDT
Option two: Thursday May 27th from 3:30 - 4:30 pm MDT
JUST IN TIME SESSIONS and LATE POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Do you have late breaking research, an emerging topic, lessons learned from the current fire season, or simply missed the deadline? We are accepting proposals for “JUST IN TIME” sessions and Posters Presentations. Just in Time sessions are 10 minutes in length and must be pre-recorded. 

Submit by May 3rd

REGISTRATION

Registration includes access to all sessions and networking opportunities during the conference, as well as access to the recorded sessions for up to 6 months afterward.  

Registrants will recieve access to the virtual conference platform (PheedLoop) about one week prior to the conference. At that time, you will be able to update your profile, explore the program schedule and create your personal agenda, and begin networking with other attendees. We will also provide a tutorial on the use of the platform.

For those who are able to meet in person, perhaps you would like to gather a group to watch the virtual conference together. If you are interested in a group rate please contact us, we will work on a package for you.

In the build up to the virtual conference, we want to see where you are and what they are doing. We invite you to submit a 30 second – 2 minute video around one of the 5 themes of the conference. We are all IAWF – an association is only as good as its community!!  So, in the video please use the hashtag #IAMIAWF.

Here are some questions you can use to create your video if you wish. 

  • Who are you? 
  • Where are you? 
  • What are you doing? 
  • What are you showing us? 
  • What do you like/dislike about your work? 
  • What would you like us to know about your part of the world?

There’s no need to create a professionally shot video, be creative and show us your world. Check out the IAWF Communications Committee Video.
