Meeting Notes

MARC held its monthly meeting on 05 June 2018 at the KSTO Office.

The meeting started off with an exam session hosted by Robert Kelly (N1GU), Ed Poppe (KH2L), and Mike Sabin (NH2MS) at 06:30PM.
Shane Callaghan (KN4IAS) successfully upgraded his Technician license to a General license! Thank you all for the support from the VE’s that were able to attend and responded to Ed’s requests.

Stem Camp JUL 7 2018

Christopher Kelley (KH2YF) stopped by and asked for AH2G’s help in the STEM Camp happening on Guam. A few ideas tossed around were setting up a rig for some chats either using the 2-meter repeater, or an HF setup. And using a low power battery powered transmitter for a simple demonstration of RF direction finding and locating. If you are interested in helping partake in this STEM Camp please contact Shane (KN4IAS@arrl.net) and you will be put in touch with the group and kept up to date on the clubs part of the camp.

Cliff (NH2K) mentioned the Live lightning strike website

ED (KH2L) reminded us that AH2G/ KSTO has a node at the KSTO Office. (Click for more info on the node)

AH2G.NET domain needs to be renewed before JULY 2018 so Shane (KN4IAS) will make that happen. Currently the Club website is hosted Free of charge thanks to Rob (AH2S) and the domain name is registered by Network Solutions, and will be switched to Google Domains.
