In August, the Board of Arthritis Australia announced Andrew Mills as the new Chief Executive Officer:
“Andrew brings a wealth of experience in the health sector, not-for-profit organisations and the corporate sector. His skills will be invaluable as we move into a new era of partnering with government to develop and implement a National Arthritis Action Plan. Our former CEO left an impressive legacy through programs including National Research, ease of use testing, consumer education resources, and consumer advocacy. The Board of Arthritis Australia is also pleased to announce that Michael Touma, Board Member since May 2018, has been elected as the new Treasurer. He takes on the role as Wayne Jarman, long time Board Member and Treasurer, retires and we extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Wayne for the many years of dedicated service to Arthritis Australia.
Progress on the National Strategic Action Plan for Arthritis
At the end of 2017, Minister for Health Greg Hunt publicly committed to a National Strategic Action Plan for Arthritis, shining a spotlight on the MILLIONS of Australians living with musculoskeletal conditions, as well as the many gaps in quality care which need to be improved.
Since then, we've consulted and collaborated with health professionals, health organisations and experts in musculoskeletal health, and are now keen to get feedback from the most important group...YOU!
