We have two brand new vendors this week! Come have some samples and say hello!
Crunchy Carrot is a local cold pressed juice business located inside Leaping Lizard Cafe at 4408 Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. Their cold-pressed method is the most nutrient dense way to consume juice, as it helps enzymes become easily accessible to the body. Their locally sourced ingredients will alkalize the body while boosting the immune system, metabolism, and energy levels! They are also so refreshing on a hot summer day. Have a couple of samples at the market to find your favorite blend.
Whaaat?!Co. Premium Jerky, Marinades & Sauces is all about bold flavor. Looking for a satisfying, high protein snack? Enjoy this premium beef jerky with just the right mix of sweet and spice. Choose from Original, Spicy or Pepper varieties. You can also pick up their bottled jerky marinade for those who wish to make their own jerky at home with any protein of their choosing. And their Tear Factor Habanero, Mango & Carrot Hot Sauce is full of flavor. First you will experience the explosive taste of fresh habaneros blended with a unique puree of fresh mangoes, carrots, and select seasonings. Then comes the burn! A pleasant, stacking burn lingering just long enough to prepare you for your next bite. They have also just released their Dill Pickles and Garden Mix Pickled Vegetables! Whaaat?!Co. will be with us for seven select Wednesdays throughout the summer and fall, so stock up when you see they are coming!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK - Green Bean & Potato Salad

This recipe does not contain mayo, making it lighter, vegan-friendly and perfect to take along to potlucks and picnics, where food sits out. You will find potatoes, green beans, garlic and chives at the market this week, and chances are good that everything else you need is in your pantry and fridge right now!
For those of you unable to make it to our Wednesday market, have you heard that we have partnered with O'Connor Brewing started a second market in Norfolk? Harvest Market at O'Connor Brewing Co. will be held every 1st & 3rd Sunday through October 6, from noon to 4 pm. You can just pop in to shop at the market, or stay for an afternoon of great beer, good times with friends and to support all things LOCAL! This new market has its own Facebook page, so "Like" it to keep up with all the news. Many of the vendors are at both markets, and there are some who are unique to just one of them. Either way, we have a great selection!
Markets are rain or shine. Brief thunderstorms early in the market day may force us to put sales on hold temporarily. In the event of widespread thunderstorms or storms in the final hour of the market, we may be forced to close for the day. If we are forced to close either temporarily or for the day, we will post a notice on the home page of our website.
