Roundtable This Thursday

The August Roundtable is this Thursday August 1. It was moved forward week earlier due to the recruitment nights during the normally scheduled date. We look forward to seeing you at 7:00 pm in the Perry Meridian Middle School Cafeteria.

As a reminder to packs, we will have additional recruitment supplies for distribution on Thursday evening. Please ensure that at least one representative from every pack is in attendance.

Cub Scout Recruitment Nights

Kids are going back to school and that means it is recruitment time.

Here are some key things to remember:
1)The pack is responsible for reaching out to the school/PTO to get a table for the Back to School/Ice Cream Social/Meet the Teacher Night

2) The district will reserve the cafeteria for the actual join night

3) We are in need of volunteers to help with scout talks during school lunch times. Visit the list at Scout Talks and look for the red cells. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

4) Reach out to your local troop and ensure they know when and where your recruitment event is being held. Ask them how many scouts will be coming to help the new scouts build race cars.

A Note From the District Chair

What a great time to be a part of the great Pathfinder District, Crossroads of America Council. Across the district we are serving over 2000 young men and women in the variety of programs that are being offered. I have thoroughly enjoyed serving as your district chair for the past eight months and meeting so many outstanding volunteers, scouts and engaged parents. This note is to let you know that I have accepted a new job in Peoria, IL, and moved west earlier in July. Although I will be a few hours to the west, I will continue serving as the district chair through the end of my term this December. My role as district chair is to set a strategic vision for the district and coordinate the district committee. I will continue to fulfill this obligation and will be available to all of you via telephone and web conferencing. I would also like to identify the members of our district committee so you know who to reach out to directly with questions as they arise.

Sr. District Executive: Celia Navaro
District Commissioner: Stan Jewula

I do want to thank ALL the great volunteers serving in our district, giving their valuable time and energy to create unparalleled character and leadership building experiences to the boys and girls involved in our numerous programs. We are constantly looking for additional volunteers to fill a variety of needs. I would encourage you to reach out and find out how your skills, talents and passions can help our district provide even more programming to even more boys in girls in our communities.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Yours in Scouting,
Mark Wutt
