Lighten Up

Daylight Saving Time started Nov. 5, so make sure you're visible! Lighten Up is a campaign dedicated to helping bicyclists and walkers become more visible in low light. Look for CAP representatives at the Pit, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m., handing out rear bike lights, or stop by the Public Safety Building (while supplies last).

Three Zeroes Scavenger Hunt

Do you know a place on campus that illustrates one of UNC's Three Zeros?  Hint: using alternative transportation counts! Plot an example of a "zero" on the scavenger hunt map to be eligible for a prize. Prizes are available on America Recycles Day (November 15) from 11-2 at the Union!

Clean Energy Student Art Contest - Deadline Extended

The NC Clean Energy Technology Center at NCSU is sponsoring a student art contest on the topic of ways we can reduce air pollution from cars and trucks. Winners will have their art featured on billboards across the state. Artwork can be submitted through Nov. 26.

Thanksgiving Schedule Adjustments

Transit systems with service to UNC are adjusting schedules for Thanksgiving.

• GoTriangle will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, and will provide (reduced) Saturday service for core routes on Friday, Nov. 24. The RSX will not operate November 22-26. Sign up for rider alerts.

• Chapel Hill Transit will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, and will provide (limited) Saturday service on Friday, Nov. 24 with no U or NU routes.  See holiday calendar.

• PART Route 4 will not operate on Thanksgiving Day. See holiday calendar.

Thanksgiving Break Transportation Options

Going to Charlotte? Purchase tickets online for BreakShuttle for Thanksgiving Break. Need to get to RDU airport? Sign up for UNC P2P's airport shuttle. For other trips, use ShareTheRideNC's single trip matching tool.

Give Input on Orange County Short Range Plan

Have ideas about how to improve transit service in Orange County? Provide feedback on the Orange County Short Range Plan online survey.

New PART Buses

PART is improving service to riders with the addition of 8 brand new buses to its fleet. The buses are equipped with 38 passenger seats, additional natural lighting, and USB ports for electronic charging! Check out PART's Facebook post

Wake Transit Public Input Meetings

Is it more important to extend buses to areas without service, or to add more frequent service for existing riders? Provide feedback through the online survey.




Open Seats on Vanpools

Riders wanted! UNC's vanpool subsidy is now $30 per month. There are open seats on vanpools from Graham, Mebane, and Siler City. See all vanpools serving UNC.

Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill Meeting

The Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill (BACH) will meet Wed., Nov. 22, at 6:30 p.m. in Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe. Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month.

Carrboro Bicycle Coalition Meeting

The Carrboro Bicycle Coalition will meet Wed., Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. in the back room of the Open Eye Cafe. Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month. 


Book a Ford; Donate $1 Per Drive

When you zip in any Ford car November 13-19, Zipcar will donate $1 per drive to Feeding America.
