May is National Bike Month!

Join local cyclists in celebrating Bike Month! UNC's Gearing Up for Biking and other OC CycleFest events will offer free bike gear, bike registration, and more. 
Thursday, May 2, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. @ UNC Berryhill Hall Courtyard

Weeknight Parking Program Begins Aug. 15

The weeknight parking program will take effect beginning Aug. 15, 2019. Parking permits or hourly/nightly fees will be required from 5 p.m. Monday until 7:30 a.m. Friday. CAP members will be eligible for 20 free weeknight passes.

Free Bus Rides!

Get on Board Day is April 25, and local transit agencies are offering free rides! Visit GoTriangle and PART to get more information on printing a free bus pass. 


Good Friday Holiday Service

The following transit agencies will have service adjustments on Friday, Apr. 19. 

  • GoTriangle's RSX will run hourly. See schedule. All other GoTriangle routes will operate normally.
  • Chapel Hill Transit will operate with Saturday-level service. The U, NU, and Safe Rides will not operate on Friday or Saturday.
  • PART Route 4 will not operate. See holiday schedule.
  • Chatham Transit will not operate. See route brochure.

GoTriangle Service Changes

GoTriangle aims to implement proposed service changes starting August 2019, including a new route from North Raleigh and schedule changes to the CRX. The Robertson Foundation is evaluating plans for continuation of the RSX route. Provide your feedback by April 24.

PART Trivia

Know a friend who wants to try riding PART? You could win them a free 10-ride bus pass by playing PART’s April trivia challenge! Winners will be announced monthly on PART’s social media.



NC 54 Bike/Ped Safety Improvement Study

The NCDOT is conducting a study of NC 54 between Old Fayetteville Rd. and Manning Dr. See the interactive map and share your thoughts in a 6-question survey by mid-May. Attend the public meeting on April 29.

BikeWalkNC Lobby Day

BikeWalkNC invites you to meet in Raleigh with North Carolina state legislators to support safe bike/ped infrastructure. See the Facebook event and register online.

“Keep Our Air Clean” Student Art Contest

NC students can submit artwork (due Apr. 28) for a chance to be featured on billboards across the state. The theme is how people can reduce air pollution from vehicles, such as taking the bus, biking, or carpooling!
