New Year, New Commute!

Have you decided on your New Year's Resolution? Whether you want to save money, get more physical activity, or use your commute time more effectively - cycling, bussing, or ridesharing can help. Pledge to try a new commute and get rewarded for tracking your trips with GoPerks!

Stadium Drive Closure through March 2018

The Chapel Hill Transit A, NU, and U routes will be detoured beginning Mon., Dec. 18, due to a utility project on Stadium Drive. See affected stops and detour information.

Winter Break

Check the Winter Break news post for Transportation & Parking office hours,  transit schedules, and parking options.

Going out of town? If you need Amtrak, Megabus, or Greyhound, take GoTriangle's Route 400 from UNC to Durham Station. Need to get to RDU airport? Take GoTriangle's Route 800 from UNC and transfer to the 100 at the Regional Transit Center. For other trips, use ShareTheRideNC's single trip matching tool.

Winter Break Schedule Adjustments

Transit systems with service to UNC are adjusting their schedules:

GoTriangle
No service Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. The RSX will not operate Dec. 19 to Jan. 9. Sign up for rider alerts.
Chapel Hill Transit
No service Dec. 24 – 25 and 31 or on Jan. 1. Limited service Dec. 16 to Jan. 7.
No express buses (CCX, CPX, FCX, HU, JFX) Dec. 25 – 29. Sign up for rider alerts.
PART Route 4
No service Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. Sign up for rider alerts.
Chatham Transit (CT) Express
No service Dec. 25 – 26 or Jan. 1.
P2P Express 
No service Dec. 16 through Jan. 7.

Public Input Opportunities for Transit

Have ideas about how to improve transit service in the Triangle? Here are some opportunities to provide input.

• PART Route 4: Provide your input by Dec. 11 on the online survey

• GoDurham: Learn more about the GoDurham short-range plan, see upcoming meetings, and provide your input.

• Chapel Hill Transit's EZ Rider: Provide feedback on the customer survey or attend a meeting on Dec. 13.

Open Seats on Vanpools

Riders wanted! UNC's vanpool subsidy is now $30 per month. There are open seats on vanpools from Graham, Mebane, and Siler City. See all vanpools serving UNC.

Win Prizes through GoPerks!

Use your UNC Onyen login to sign up for ShareTheRideNC for carpooling to events, trips, or work. Employees can track their trips to get GoPerks! UNC Health Care employees can sign up using an email login.

Calling All Cyclists for the Holiday Parade

Want to be a part of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade? Come join local cycling groups on Sat., Dec. 9 at 9:15 a.m. at Morehead Planetarium.  See the calendar event for more information.

Bicycle Advocacy Group Meetings

Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill (BACH): Meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe. 

Carrboro Bicycle Coalition (CBC): Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 8 p.m. in the back room of the Open Eye Cafe.

Try Bike Share at UNC

UNC recently installed 100 bikes available for hourly use from locations around campus! Ride free for an hour daily! See more information.

Zipcar

 

 These Aren't the Zipcars You're Looking For

You're looking for a Zipcar named Anakin. Reserve it at Wilson Library to celebrate Star Wars: The Last Jedi, premiering Dec. 15!  (Now THIS is podracing!)
