PART Commuter Dash 5K
On Saturday, April 16, PART will host its annual 5K at Triad Park in Kernersville, NC. Registration is free when participants agree to try an alternate commute option (bike, walk, bus, vanpool, carpool, ride the train, telecommute) at least once by April 16. Register here by April 13.
PART's New Veteran Fare
In appreciation of the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces, PART is honored to offer veterans a new discounted fare. Veterans will be able to purchase veteran passes for 50% less than full fare. The new veteran fare will be accepted on all PART Express bus and shuttle routes. Under the new policy, veterans are required to show a valid Veterans ID card while boarding in order to receive discounted fare. Read more.

UNC’s Gearing Up for Bike Month Wed. May 4, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at Berryhill Hall. Faculty, staff and students, come get bike checks from The ReCYCLEry, register your bike with UNC, pick up local bike info and swag and more!
Bike Month Parade Fri. May 6, 6–8 p.m. beginning with bike checks and decorations at 140 W. Franklin St., followed by a raucous and fun, family-friendly parade loop through downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Festive dress and costume are encouraged!
BikeAbility Event Sat. May 7, 9 a.m.–noon at Fire Station #4 in Chapel Hill. Special needs bike-riding practice and safety awareness event.
Bike on Bus Demo Sat. May 14, 9–11 a.m. at the Chapel Hill Farmers Market. Are you intimidated by the idea of putting your bike on the bus? Here is your chance to learn, with assistance from the pros.
Bike to Work Breakfast Tues. May 17, 7–10 a.m. at the Libba Cotten Bikeway (Roberson St). The FAMOUS Bike to Work Breakfast! Featuring biscuits and coffee from the nationally acclaimed Neal’s Deli and Open Eye Cafe. Free bike checks! Bike blender smoothies! Stop by on your way to work.
International Ride of Silence Wed. May 18, 7 p.m. at the corner of E. Franklin St. and Henderson St., Chapel Hill. A local ride on the day of this international event, to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways and to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.
Gnarrboro BMX Jump Jam Sun. May 29, Noon–6 p.m. at Back Alley Bikes. If you missed last year’s event, don’t miss this one. It is as much fun for the spectators as it is for the participants.
