National Courtesy Month

September is National Courtesy Month, and the perfect opportunity to take note of courteous transportation etiquette. Simple actions can go a long way. On the bus, only take up one seat and on a crowded bus give up your seat to people who may need it more – the elderly, handicapped, or pregnant. On your bicycle, yield to pedestrians and ride with the flow of traffic. As a motorist share the road with buses, cyclists and pedestrians. Practice courtesy this month and respect will grow year-round.

World Carfree Day

On Tuesday, September 22, step out from behind the wheel and take part in World Carfree Day. Bike, walk, or hop on public transit to get around, and learn about your carfree possibilities. Plan your alternative trip.

Carrboro Music Festival Shuttle

The quickest and easiest way to get to the 2015 Carrboro Music Festival is to catch the FREE Music Festival Shuttle. The shuttle, operated by Chapel Hill Transit, will be providing service from the Carrboro Plaza Park & Ride to the Carrboro Music Festival, on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m., running every 10 to 15 minutes.

New this year, the Music Festival will provide coupon books (valid for September 27) to all shuttle riders that board at the Park & Ride, which will include discounts at several Carrboro businesses. For information on the Music Festival, please visit www.carrboromusicfestival.com.
