Chapel Hill Transit Routes Return to Skipper Bowles Drive

Transit routes will resume normal service on Skipper Bowles Drive on Saturday, February 4. All bus stops on Skipper Bowles Drive will be open.

Hot Tea & Tales at UNC Hospitals

Have a cool or interesting thing happen to you on your alternative commute? Enjoy not driving alone? Want free tea? Join Go Chapel Hill and CAP at the UNC Children's Hospital Lobby on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 11-1 and tell your transportation tale. Warm winter gloves and commute information will be available!

Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP)

The CTP lists proposed future transportation improvements in Durham, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro. The DCHC Metropolitan Planning Organization board is accepting feedback until February 24.

Chatham County Comprehensive Plan

Chatham County residents, there will be meetings Feb 21-23 seeking public input for future policies and funding related to transportation and other topics. Get more details on the meetings and provide feedback at their website

Free TransLoc App Offers Real-Time Transit Tracking

As a reminder, you can track your bus online with the TransLoc real-time tracking app, which is available for free download on Apple and Android devices. There is also a browser-based version so you can check how close your bus is on time before you leave. 

New Bus from Siler City

As of January 3, the CT Express, formerly known as the Pittsboro Express (PX), will serve Siler City and offer direct service to UNC. The CT express will continue to accept the free PX pass, available through CAP, until August 14, 2017. See the CT Express schedule

Electric Buses for Chapel Hill Transit

As part of a recent grant award from Duke Energy, Chapel Hill Transit will purchase an electric bus by no later than December 31, 2017. The funding is related to the Consent Decree Duke Energy entered on October 20, 2015, that requires them to implement environmental mitigation projects in NC to reduce vehicle emissions or reduce use of fossil-fueled electricity generation. 



Siler City Vanpool Seats Available

A vanpool departing from Siler Crossing, US 64, has an available seat. It arrives at UNC at 7:45 a.m and departs UNC at 5 p.m. Seats are available on several other vanpools as well. See full details for UNC vanpools here.

Carrboro Bicycle Coalition Meeting

The Carrboro Bicycle Coalition will be meeting Wed., Feb 8, at 7pm in the back room of the Open Eye Cafe.

Event Parking

Basketball event operations will be in effect for all UNC Men's and Women's Basketball home game days. When parking on campus, be sure to check the entrance of the lot for signage indicating if the spaces have been reserved for events. See event parking information here.
