New BreakShuttle Service

BreakShuttle will provide luxury motor coaches for UNC students to get home during school breaks. Service will be piloted during Thanksgiving Break 2016 to get to and from Charlotte, Fayetteville, and Wilmington, NC; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; and Washington, DC. Buy tickets by 9/30 for the best rates!

P2P Buses Now Online

UNC's P2P Express buses can now be see in real-time through TransLoc. Check it out at uncp2p.transloc.com.

Try Transit

Check out GoTriangle's events planned for Try Transit month. New riders welcome! Watch this video from NC State about a pair of siblings who take the GoTriangle buses from Cary to NC State. UNC isn't the only school with exemplary commuters!

PART is participating in Try Transit Week Sept 26-30. PART is participating in Try Transit Week Sept 26-30, 2016! The week's events include fare-free Thursday, group buddy rides, and a celebration on Friday. Check out PART's events here.

UNC Vanpool Seats Available

There are seats open on several vanpools providing service between UNC and areas around the Triangle. See all UNC vanpool details here.

• Apex: 3 seats open, meeting at Beaver Creek Commons, arriving at UNC at 7:40 a.m. and departing at 4:40 p.m. Contact Jeff Campbell at  jcampbell@unc.edu for details.

Have You Used the Bicycle Fix-It Station?

Installed in the southwest corner of Greenlaw near the Pit, this Fix-it station includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. Read more

Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill

BACH will be holding their monthly meeting on September 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe. 

Kidical Mass Family Event 

Join Carrboro Bicycle Coalition on Sunday, October 2 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Carrboro Elementary School. Introduce your children (and re-introduce yourself) to the joys of riding in large numbers and in a very visible and safe way. There will be fun and prizes and a short ride (with assistance from the Carrboro PD) to let your kids experience riding on the road.

Carrboro Bicycle Coalition's October monthly meeting is at 8 p.m. on October 12 at Open Eye Cafe. 

Zipcar

 

Free Annual Membership

UNC Commuter Alternative Program (CAP) members can now join Zipcar for free! Sign up for the free membership at zipcar.com/unccap. The regular membership rate for students and employees is $15 per year. Hourly rates start at $7.50 per hour (for Ford cars), with gas and insurance included.

Damage Waivers Available for All Students

Students 18-20 are now able to purchase damage waivers, not just 21 and over anymore. Drive worry-free if an at-fault accident ever occurs! Now available are a partial damage waiver (reduction to a $375 damage fee) for $50/year or $5/month, or a complete damage waiver for $79/year or $9/month.

CAP Merchants

 

Remember Your Discounts

CAP members can use their CAP discount card for local discounts and are automatically entered into monthly prize drawings donated by CAP merchants.

Traffic & Parking

 

Football Transportation and Parking

Football Event operations will be in effect on all UNC Football home game Saturdays this fall including September 17 and 24, October 8, November 5, 19, and Friday November 25.

Parking for Other UNC Events

When parking on campus, be sure to check the entrance of the lot for signage indicating if the spaces have been reserved for events.
