Fill the Bus with Toys for Tots
Chapel Hill Transit and the North Carolina Athletics Department are joining together with Toys for Tots to provide gifts for low income children living in Orange County. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to "fill the bus" to the Friday Center or Southern Village game-day Park & Ride lots on Sunday, Dec. 11. If you are not using one of these park and rides, bring your toy(s) to the men's basketball game against Tennessee this Sunday and help fill the boxes located at the Smith Center.
Chapel Hill Transit Winter Break Schedule
Chapel Hill Transit services will operate on an adjusted schedule for winter break from December 17 to January 7. See their holiday service information on their website.
GoTriangle Holiday Schedule
GoTriangle regional, express, and shuttle routes will operate on holiday schedules. Sign up for their service alerts for exact scheduling information.
PART Holiday Schedule
PART will have limited service over the holidays. All routes will be closed Sunday 12/25 and Monday 12/26 except Route 5 Amtrak Connector (open both days). All routes resume normal service Tuesday, 12/27. Please see their website for more information. Call PART at (800) 588-7787.
Robertson Express Bus Winter Break Schedule
The Robertson Express (RSX) will not provide service from December 20 to January 10. See GoTriangle's service alert for more information.
Renaissance Village Park & Ride
A Park & Ride lot at Renaissance Village near Southpoint Mall will be served by GoTriangle Routes 800 and 800S. Spaces that can be utilized are in front of HomeGoods along Renaissance Parkway. See this rider alert for a map and more information.
Orange Public Transportation Accepting GoPass
Orange Public Transportation is now accepting the GoPass on the Orange Chapel Hill Midday Connector.
Skipper Bowles Drive Closure Extended
The closure on Skipper Bowles Drive has been extended to February 3, 2017. Chapel Hill Transit is implementing a detour for the CM, N, RU, U, and Weekend U routes, due to the partial closure of Skipper Bowles Drive. For more information read here. Bike Ballet at the Holiday Parade
Come out to see local cyclists in the annual Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 10! The parade begins at Morehead Planetarium at 10 a.m. and ends at Carrboro Town Hall at 11 a.m.
New colorful crosswalks will soon be installed at the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Wilson Street, and at the intersection of Granville Towers, prompting street resurfacing and lane closures. The designer crosswalks are part of an initiative to increase the visibility between people who walk and people who drive. Read more here.

Traffic & Parking
UNC Facilities Services is conducting emergency steam tunnel repairs that will force the closure of a segment of Skipper Bowles Drive to through traffic through Feb. 3, 2017.
Basketball Event operations will be in effect for all UNC Men's and Women's Basketball home game days.
When parking on campus, be sure to check the entrance of the lot for signage indicating if the spaces have been reserved for events.
