UNC Transportation Fair 

This year's fair will be Wednesday, November 16! Meet your transportation representatives and get a free t-shirt, made in the USA! Come to the UNC Children’s Hospital lobby, 8 am – 9:30 am or the UNC Student Union - Great Hall, 11 am – 2 pm. Follow the Facebook event for more details coming soon.

Golden Modes

This year we're celebrating commuter excellence at the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill on Thursday, November 3, 1:15 - 3:15 pm. If you'd like to attend, use this link to let us know you'll be there. For more information, visit the Golden Modes website.

Employee Appreciation Day

UNC employees, join your colleagues for the 2016 Employee Appreciation Day on Friday, Oct. 21, from 9 am - 3 pm. at the Student Union and the Pit. CAP will be there with alternative transportation information and swag!


Trick-or-treat at SafetoberFest! October 24, 1 pm - 4 pm at Granville Towers and October 27, 1 pm - 4 pm at SASB Plaza. Come on out to interact with various university organizations and pick up candy!

Fall Break Schedule

The Robertson Scholars Express (RSX) to Duke will be running Limited Service on October 19 and October 31. The last bus will depart UNC at 5:00 pm and the last bus from Duke will be 4:30 pm.

Chapel Hill Transit will make the following adjustments:

• A-Limited morning trips will not operate Thurs, Oct 20 – Fri, Oct 21.

• Weekend U and NU routes will not operate Saturday, Oct 22.

• Safe Ride routes will not operate Thurs, Oct 20 – Sat, Oct 22.  


Chapel Hill Transit Changes Due to Skipper Bowles Drive Closure

Chapel Hill Transit will implement a detour for the CM, N, RU, U, and Weekend U routes beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19, due to a partial closure of Skipper Bowles Drive. For more information read here. For future notices, sign up for email alerts (click “CH Transit Service Updates” under News).

#GoTogether with GoTriangle

GoTriangle launched their GoTogether campaign with a new website and launch video, and is asking riders to share their story using #GoTogether. On the fence about using transit? Let current riders ease your worries and #GoTogether.

BreakShuttle Service for Thanksgiving

BreakShuttle will provide luxury motor coaches for UNC students. Service will be piloted during Thanksgiving Break to/from Charlotte, Fayetteville, and Wilmington, NC; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; and Washington, DC. Buy tickets here.

Bike Carrboro

The Bike Carrboro is having a contest with its Wheels of Carrboro — 10 wheels designed by nonprofits and located around Carrboro. Visit any of the participating locations, take a photo of (or a selfie with) the wheel on display, and enter to win a prize! Send entries to, post on their Facebook page, or post on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #wheelsofcarrboro. 

Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill

The Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill (BACH) meets the fourth Wednesday of every month and will be having their next meeting on Wednesday, October 26, 6:30 pm at Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe. Join BACH as they plan events and share news on the bike advocacy front.

Lighten Up

Daylight Saving Time starts November 6. Make sure you're visible! Lighten Up is a campaign dedicated to helping bicyclists and walkers to become more visible. Bike lights will be handed out at transportation events and coupons for local bike shops will be distributed at bike racks. Read more here.



Win Money for Your Student Organization

Zipcar and Ford’s Students with Drive program is going big. Ford is giving away nearly $100,000 – each semester! – to student organizations driving positive change and going further on and off campus. Get your Tar Heel pride on and show ‘em how your group would use the grand prize of Zipcar driving credits and $$ to impact UNC and the Chapel Hill community. Traffic & Parking

Skipper Bowles Drive Closure

UNC Facilities Services is conducting emergency steam tunnel repairs that will force the closure of a segment of Skipper Bowles Drive to through traffic beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, through Jan. 6, 2017.

Football Transportation and Parking

Football Event operations will be in effect on all UNC Football home game Saturdays this fall including November 5 and 19, and Friday, November 25.

Parking for Other UNC Events

When parking on campus, be sure to check the entrance of the lot for signage indicating if the spaces have been reserved for events.
