Chapel Hill Transit and GoTriangle Updates
See list of Chapel Hill Transit service changes for CM, CPX, HS, HU, NU, and T routes. All changes effective August 15, 2016. See list of GoTriangle service changes, effective August 7, 2016.
Point-to-Point implemented minor route adjustments to the P2P Express route, effective August 15, 2016. Buses will no longer serve Rosemary Street. See the new route here.
P2P will soon have real-time service and on-demand scheduling through TransLoc. Check back later in the fall at uncp2p.transloc.com.
New BreakShuttle Service
BreakShuttle will provide luxury motor coaches for UNC students to get home during school breaks. Service will be piloted during Thanksgiving Break 2016 to get to and from Charlotte, Fayetteville, and Wilmington, NC; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; and Washington, DC.

Drive a Vanpool, and Ride Free!
A vanpool leaving from the Cornerstone Shopping Center in Cary is searching for a new driver. This vanpool arrives on UNC’s South Campus at 7:30 a.m. and departs at 4:30 p.m. The current driver is retiring, so if you would like to drive a friendly group of UNC employees to work, you can ride free! Seats Now Available on Apex Vanpool
Three seats have opened up on the vanpool leaving from Apex (Beaver Creek Commons) to UNC 8:00-4:30. Contact email@example.com for details.
On July 1, UNC closed the Zimride system in an effort to streamline ride-matching into one database, ShareTheRideNC. This website is currently under maintenance as we establish a connection to UNC's Onyen login system, but check back later this month to enjoy the new functionality.
Celebrate Bikes With Cyclicious

New Bicycle Fix-It Station at UNC
Installed in the southwest corner of Greenlaw near the Pit, this Fix-it station includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. Read more.
Inverted-U bike racks have replaced the wave racks as part of the Pit Renovation project.
The Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill (BACH) will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, August 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe, 431 W Franklin St. BACH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cycling in the town of Chapel Hill and advocating for the needs and accommodations for cycling in town.
Fix-A-Flat at Summer Streets
The Carrboro Bicycle Coalition is hosting a fix-a-flat workshop at Summer Streets on August 28 from 11 am to 1 pm. Come on out, bring your bike, learn how to fix a flat tire, and more!
Chapel Hill Launches Mobility and Connectivity Plan
Join us Sept. 6! Where do we need new bike lanes, sidewalks, and improvements?
The Town of Chapel Hill wants your input in developing a Mobility and Connectivity Plan that will recommend sidewalk priorities, connections to significant destinations, close gaps in walkability, and encourage healthier and more active behavior in residents and visitors. Residents are asked to provide input on the plan's goals and objectives, and its vision statement. Read more here.
Zipcar has added a Ford C-Max behind the Public Safety building, so now Zipcar members can reserve a hybrid vehicle at just $7.50 per hour ($8.50 for weekends). A Zipcar has also been added to Baity Hill!
Free Annual Membership
UNC Commuter Alternative Program (CAP) members can now join Zipcar for free! Sign up for the free membership at zipcar.com/unccap and join CAP at cap.unc.edu. The regular membership rate for students and employees is $15 per year. Hourly rates start at $7.50 per hour (for Ford cars), with gas and insurance included.
Instant Join & Drive Available
Zipcar is implementing a much faster registration system, Instant Join & Drive, via the iOS/Android apps which allows members to register within minutes of applying and offers a monthly driving plan or occasional driving plan.
Welcome New Vendor!
CAP discount cards can now be used at The Egg and I for $2 off any breakfast or lunch entree. CAP discounts continue at these local businesses.
Carrboro Coffee Roasters, which provides CAP discounts at Caffé Driade and Open Eye Cafe, is hosting coffee tastings, talks, and workshops at Open Eye Cafe. Check out their upcoming events.
Traffic & Parking
Football Event operations will be in effect on all UNC Football home game Saturdays this fall including September 17 and 24, October 8, November 5, 19, and Friday November 25.
When parking on campus, be sure to check the entrance of the lot for signage indicating if the spaces have been reserved for events.
