I-40 Widening Public Input Meeting

On Jan. 24, NCDOT will hold a public meeting regarding the proposed widening of 11.4 miles of I-40 between I-85 and the Durham County Line. Read more.

MLK Day Service (Mon. 1/21)

  • GoTriangle will operate with Sunday-level service. The RSX will not operate.
  • Chapel Hill Transit is operating CM, CW, D, FG, JN, T and V routes on Saturday schedules with some detours (no 420, U, or NU).
  • Chatham Transit will not operate.
  • PART is operating normally.

GoTriangle Service Changes

GoTriangle routes 100, 105, 300, and 305 have had minor schedule adjustments (started Jan. 7), and midday service for Go OnDemand has been removed. See service change details.

Ride Free from Siler City

Chatham Transit Express has added a 6:45 a.m. trip from the Siler City Walmart, arriving at UNC at 7:30 a.m. (started Jan. 2). Email CAP for a free bus pass.



Tar Heel Bikes

It's cold on campus! Can't stand the hike? Make it quick with a bike! 100 bikes around campus are available for hourly use. Ride free for an hour daily! 

New Fixit Station

Need a basic bicycle repair or a tire pump? Check out the new bicycle "RepairSTAN" station at the Pit! See Facebook post. Another station is located at Greenlaw Hall.

Free 1-Day Parking Permits

As a reminder, CAP members may park occasionally in the S-11 lot or Park & Ride lots (1 day per month for permanent employees, 1 per semester for students). Check the  CAP FAQs benefits section for occasional-use permit instructions.

Discount Cards Available

Discount cards are available for all CAP members! Stop by the Public Safety Building (285 Manning Dr.) or the Hospitals' Parking Office (in front of the Children's Hospital)! See discounts. Employees may request delivery through campus mail.
