Fall Break Transportation Options

Going to Charlotte? Purchase tickets online for BreakShuttle for Fall and Thanksgiving breaks for just $39. Need to get to RDU airport? Sign up for UNC P2P's airport shuttle. For other trips, use ShareTheRideNC's single trip matching tool.

Chapel Hill Transit Fall Break Schedule Adjustments

Chapel Hill Transit will make the following service adjustments during Fall Break:

• Weekend A-limited morning trips (7:14-9:44 a.m.) will not operate Oct. 19-20.

• Weekday NU route will not operate Oct. 19-20.

• Weekend U and NU routes will not operate Oct. 21.

• Safe Ride routes will not operate Oct. 19-21.

Employee Appreciation Day

UNC employees, join your colleagues for the 2017 Employee Appreciation Day on Fri., Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pit. CAP will be there with alternative transportation information, swag, and discount cards for CAP members!

Clean Energy Student Art Contest

The NC Clean Energy Technology Center at NCSU is sponsoring a student art contest on the topic of ways we can reduce air pollution from cars and trucks. Students from kindergarten through college can submit artwork. Winners will have their art featured on billboards across the state. Artwork can be submitted through Nov. 5.

Give Input on GoTriangle/GoDurham Short-Range Plans

GoTriangle and GoDurham are working on new short-range transit plans to improve bus service for current customers and attract new riders. Complete this survey to provide your input. 

State Fair Shuttle

GoTriangle weekend shuttles to the State Fair depart from UNC (South Rd. at Country Club) and the NC 54 Park & Ride lot. Cost to ride is $5; ages 0-12 ride free.

Transportation Careers Panel

A transportation careers panel will be held on Oct. 26 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Chapin Reading Room, 211 New East. A reception for alumni and current students will follow. See more details at the Facebook event page

Google, Transportation, and Land Use

Learn about Google's Transportation Program and how their programs contribute to reducing single-occupancy vehicle trips. The event will be Nov. 8 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. in the Chapin Reading Room, 211 New East. See more details at the Facebook event page



Open Seats on Vanpools

Riders wanted! A van from Graham arrives at UNC at 8 a.m. and departs at 4:30 p.m. Contact the driver Terri King at or 919-966-1996.

Coming from Siler City? A vanpool from Siler Crossing arrives at UNC at 7:45 a.m. and departs at 5:05 p.m. Contact the driver Glen Lawrence at or 919-537-3679.

Bicycle Planning Event

Learn about American adaptation of European bicycle planning, policy, and design on Oct. 11. Join Mary Hudson Elbech, who will share her experiences working in bicycle planning in Denmark, in the Chapin Reading Room, 211 New East, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. See the Facebook event for details.

Bike Share is Coming to UNC

Coming soon, UNC will have 100 bikes available for hourly use from locations around campus! Stay tuned for details.

Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill Meeting

The Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill (BACH) will meet Wed., Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m. in Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe. Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month.

Carrboro Bicycle Coalition Meeting

The Carrboro Bicycle Coalition will meet Wed., Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. in the back room of the Open Eye Cafe. Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

Pomegranate Kitchen Food Available at Friends Café

UNC students and employees can purchase Pomegranate Kitchen's food at the Friends Café in the Health Sciences Library! Please note that the 10% CAP discount only applies at the main kitchen.  

Discount Cards

Discount cards are available for all CAP members! Stop by the Public Safety Building (285 Manning Dr.) or the Hospitals' Parking Office (in front of the Children's Hospital) to pick up yours! Cards will also be available at events held throughout the year, including the upcoming Employee Appreciation Day on Oct. 20. Visit our website to see discounts provided.
