Well, here we are in December!
Take a deep breath,
give the house a good clean,
then just kick back & enjoy the holidays!
Rhythm & Yarn Club from Forbidden Fiber Co. is in the shop! This month's selection for your collection is "Dangerous", played from Michael Jackson's 1991 album of the same title ... these colors are spot on!

We have this on FFC's Fortitude base ~ 100% Superwash Wool, a whopping 475 yard skein, $30!
It is definitely time to get serious about our holiday gift making. Here are a few of our quick perennial favorites (and they're all FREE DOWNLOADS on Ravelry!):

Hats? Kelly McClure (Boho Knits) Sockhead Slouch Hat ... as well as her Sockhead Cowl!
Cowl? Antonia Shankland's Honey Cowl;
Scarf? Jared Flood's recipe ... Noro Stripe Scarf;
Mittens? Tin Can Knit's The World's Simplest Mittens;
Fingerless Mitts? Susie Rogers' Reading Mitts;
Socks? Tin Can Knit's Rye or Suzanne Sjogren's Vanilla Socks;
Headbands? Try Monika Tuzar's Vera & Priscillia Uloho's Woven Cable!
Shawl? Noora Backlund's Reyna is lovely (add a picot bind-off for a bit more style)!

And you're welcome!
Look at this big ole happy smile! The Little Pink Dress has found its perfect home, and we couldn't be more pleased! The rehoming of this hand knit vintage dress has been such a pleasure ... thanks to all of you who came to try it on, or just to see such a work.

Cat is the perfect fit for this little (and I do mean little in size but magnificent in workmanship) piece. She is such a sweet soul, and will give LPD the love & care it deserves. This was a love, love, love endeavor ... from the sweet man who trusted us with his late wife's knitting, to all of you who appreciated it, to Catalina who will so carefully & proudly wear it. (Yes, she was the first one I thought of when I accepted the dress.)

And they lived happily after ~ don't you just love a happy ending? Thanks to all of you, this was a really sweet endeavor!

(Did I mention that Cat's mother brought me a fresh baked blueberry coffee cake? it was delicious ... they have a "coming soon" local bakery, you can contact Aliza at aliza@mylittlebirdbakery.com; they hope to have their website up & running in the near future)!
Our YaYa Fiber Night at SkyKing this month is December 15, and we're doing a Dirty Santa Stash Swap. What does this mean, you may ask? Well, we're making it up as we go. Here's what we have so far ~
  • Rule 1: Stash dive (or come buy something to gift if you just can't let that stash go);
  • Rule 2: Wrap it up!;
  • Rule 3: Drop it with the others on the table;
  • Rule 4: Dirty Santa rules apply (3 swaps and its yours!);
  • Rule 5: Never, ever touch Anna's cider (just trust me on this one)!
More rules may be added as necessary.

Save that date ~ Thursday, December 15 from 5-9. we'll be in the shop from 10-5 that day. Come if you can, bring a friend ... everyone is welcome, and we do hope you'll join us!
Thanks to each and every one of you who came out last weekend (some of you more than once), what a wonderful turnout (we should have had cookies)! Y'all are the best, keep it coming!

We're in the shop Tuesday-Saturday from 10-2, special hours are by appointment ~ just give us a call at 615.952.0110. We'd love to see you!

Happy December & yours in yarn,
Glenna
