Yes, boys & girls, whether we like it or not ...
the holiday onslaught is upon us!
Halloween always wins the kickoff
(or as Sarah so succinctly put it,
the beginning of the sugar holidays)!
Time to get those gifts & decorations made,
and we are here to help!

Forbidden Fiber Co.'s Rythym & Yarn Club selection this month is 'Dangerous', and it is a perfect fall colorway ... not too much gold, not too much purple ... it is just right! We have this on FFC's Fortitude base, 100% SW Merino, $30/skein.

This colorway pulls from the eighth studio album 'Dangerous' by Michael Jackson, released by Epic Records on November 26, 1991. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart (as well as 13 other countries, and sold 5 million copies worldwide in its first week).

The colorways are pulled from the album artwork painted by American pop surrealist artist Mark Ryden. Well done.

New offering from Urth Yarns! May we present Prismarine, "named after a blue-green type of stone that appears underwater in ruins and ocean monuments in Minecraft. I have a fun and easy-going personality! You will enjoy working with me"! This is from designer Alina Appasova, and it is working up magnificently!

Prismarine scarf is worked on a bias in a simple slip stitch pattern. Repeats are short and easy to memorize. You can use self-striping, ombre, gradients, mini skeins, leftovers. Size is easy to adjust in both directions.

This is a fairly simple 2-skein project, we're using Urth's Harvest Fingering 'Thuga' & a Uneek 'Harmony' sock box! We have a good bit of stock of both Harvest & Uneek ... and we're always glad to order more for you!. Here's the link to their site if you'd like to puruse the colorways.

This weekend in Murfreesboro ~ no, we won't be there, but we encourage all of you to go! This is a wonderful fiber event, full of all your fiber friends, plus a great opportunity to make new ones ~ and then come show us your treasures & tell us all about it, please. We'd also like to mention ~ the SAFF (Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair) was held last weekend in Fletcher, North Carolina (just southeast of Asheville from here ~ an easy drive). Any excuse to visit upper East Tennessee/Western North Carolina in the fall is well worth the journey (IMHO ~ my old stomping grounds)! What say we save the date (when announced) for a road trip next fall, y'all?!? Have you ever seen Watauga Lake in the fall? It is amazing.

Just a snippet about our classes! We're slowing down to a mostly short projects until after the holidays; we'll be adding a few quickie sessions through December. For now, here's the first one ... click here!

It's time to talk about Trick or Treat here in Main Street. It's this Monday from 5-7 pm, and Main Street will be closed to thru-traffic from 5:30-7. This is a great safe community event to bring your littles out for ... our local businesses simply set up, open up, hand out candy to the goblins. One of my most favorite things (besides the littles) is seeing the parents all costumed-out! Hope you will come, bring the family (and I hope we don't run out of candy ... that's is always a challenge. Last year we had over 400 kiddos)!

PS: Helpful Hint ... went to Costco Monday to load up on big bags of Halloween candy, they were sold out; they were supposed to get another truck yesterday. And so it begins ~ I'm predicting shortages of all things all winter.
