Good morning and welcome to September!
About time, if you ask most of us!
This summer has seemed tremendously looooooong!
Kim Dyes Yarn's LYS Club selections (August) are in the shop ... Antarctica and Madagascar (these two are just lovely ~ especially that Antarctica)! These are Kim's Sourdough Sock base: 80/20% Superwash Merino/Nylon, 100 grams, 400 yards. They are $30 per skein and yes, we are glad to mail!

Here's the preview of September's selections, Cobalt (truly a true, deep cobalt blue) and Pottery Glaze (dark shades of brown with touches of black). Same base & price as above. We have a standard order each month with Kim, just know that at any time before she begins dyeing we can order more for you! For example if you want 5 skeins of the Cobalt, come in & prepay and we'll get it for you!
More Dream in Color minis are shipping this week (these have been quite popular, thank you)! And just for your knitting-with-minis pleasure, "Dancing Mountains" by Sarah B. Abram was released mid-August. This shawl recommends a full skein of Smooshy with Cashmere (fingering weight), plus 8 minis. But wait, there's more ~ beginning today, September 1, Dream in Color is offering a 30% discount off your Ravelry download when you purchase the recommended yarn from your local stockiest! We have the pattern code, which we are glad to provide with your purchase of DIC's minis! And for those of you who have been collecting these little jewels over the last several months, we have a code for you, too (just give us a shout)!
Just a little PSA here ... we have NOT and do not plan to order Advent or 12 (or 15) days boxes from any of our vendors for the end of year 2022 holiday season this year. We do have a few remaining Forbidden Fiber Co. and Madelinetosh boxes from 2020 and 2021 which we are offering at 50% off while they last. Please tell the others!

Want to hear about our teeny little movie spot? OK. Paramount Plus has been filming a Christmas movie starring Tanya Tucker which is to be aired during this year's Christmas season. Being as how they wanted to use the storefront as a grocery store (say what!) for a snippet of a little scene, we (that would be me & Kent) worked hard over the past week emptying out the front of the store to give them the space (and earn those Hollywood $$$). The filming was done on Tuesday night, below are a few pics. This was sooo much fun (but dangnation, I am still so tired)!
All of y'all know I'm the first to duck out of frame when someone tries to snap a shot. After they were done shooting, I walked out and announced that I wanted to meet Tanya Tucker ... and there she was. I still had my phone in my hand (I'd been snapping pics all day & night) and I said no, "I don't need a pic, I just wanted to meet you" ... she took my phone, handed it to one of her assistants and he snapped this pic. After basically 14 hours on my feet, I was a bit tired & brazen. So I said, "All I want is for you to sing 'Delta Dawn'. And she did. Just like that, she started singing. To my amazement I started singing right along with her ... because we all know all the words, don't we! (And we all well know I can't carry a tune in a bucket ... but I can sing 'Delta Dawn'!)

This was a fun adventure. Next time, I need makeup people (obviously)! Since moving to Middle Tennessee, I've always heard 'everyone always comes to Nashville'. I'm beginning to believe eventually everyone comes to Kingston Springs!

Yours in yarn (and life),
