Modifications for the Real Estate Industry

Dear Clients and Friends,
We hope you are continuing to stay safe and healthy. You may have heard that Governor Jay Inslee released a memo with changes to some of the original restrictions of the Stay Home, Stay Healthy Proclamation, in regards to the Real Estate Industry. The intention of the amendment is to facilitate the thousands of real estate and mortgage transactions in process and provide relief to homeowners in distress related to the COVID-19 event.
We are writing at this time to provide you with the details of these changes and to assure you that we take these changes very seriously and are committed to practicing safe social distancing, proper sanitizing and following the protocols mandated by the memo. Here are some pertinent updates:
The protocols that must be followed for the permitted in-person activities include:
In-person activities must be by appointment only;
No more than two people, including the broker, may be at the property at any one time; and
Those two persons must strictly follow social distancing guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) by remaining at least six feet apart at all times.
The revisions to the Order are limited to allow the following in-person activities, provided the above protocols are followed:
Previews and showings of listings by appointment only;
Listing presentations, photography, and creating virtual tours for new listings [Note: professional photographers are not considered “essential,” thus all photos must be taken by the broker or seller];
Inspections for pending transactions;
Appraisals for pending transactions;
Buyer “walk-throughs” for pending transactions prior to closing; and
Providing keys to buyers at closing.
No other in-person real estate brokerage activities are permitted.

3D Virtual Tours
We've been using this tool for a few years, but it has never been more relevant than now. With every listing we handle, we add this feature along with photos and video tours. See the pink arrow? That is a VR option. It means you can use those google cardboard goggles you bought, or your teenagers VR headset and take a virtual walkthrough of all of our listings. No VR? No problem, you can tour from your computer or tablet and get a good look at everything. You can even measure to see if your furniture will fit!
