From Purdue University to the San Diego Supercomputing Center

During the last HUBzero Community Meeting, HUBzero's director, Mike Zentner, announced that the HUBzero team will be moving to San Diego, CA. This move is a defining moment for the platform and team.

This opportunity presented itself after Mike was appointed as director of the Sustainable Scientific Software at SDSC. Mike joined SDSC following nine years with Purdue University, where he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Purdue Foundry and a senior research scientist. At SDSC, Mike will continue as the acting director of the HUBzero® and co-PI of nanoHUB.org. Mike was also officially named PI of the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) as Nancy Wilkins-Diehr retired from the position after serving 26 years at SDSC.

We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to joining our SDSC colleagues starting September 1st. If you have any questions about the transition, please feel free to email the HUBzero team at info@hubzero.org.
