Some of the folks at Northern Neck Electric Co-Op, Valerie and Mike, volunteered with us at the Tappahannock Farmers Market to help their goal of contributing over 400 hours of community service to local nonprofits.

Haven Board Member Trinity Bea was also a huge help at the Heathsville Farmer's Market.

It was a super hot day for our volunteers and we are so appreciative of their hard work and effort. The Haven would like to thank all of the folks who have been donating their time volunteering at local Farmers Markets.
We were delighted to see our volunteers both returning and new at our open house on Wednesday, July 14th. There was lots of conversation with delicious snacks and good coffee. Folks were able to learn more about  upcoming events and how they can get involved as volunteers.

If you were unable to join us but would like to volunteer at these upcoming events, please visit our website or contact our Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator, Brittany Clayborne, at brittany.clayborne@havenshelter.org.
The Haven is thrilled to have this beautiful quilt to offer in a raffle. The quilt was designed, created and quilted by Sarah Spivey for The Haven.

"Come Sail Away" features a beautiful panel of sailboats at the center surrounded by double borders of the offset "Flying Geese" pattern, all in beautiful shades of blue. It would be a beautiful addition to anyone's home.

Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets can be purchased at the Irvington, Heathsville, and Tappahannock Farmers Markets and at The Shoppe for Haven's Sake Thrift Shop.

It's time to do your happy dance because all of your calls, emails, meetings, and tweets with our Congressional delegation paid off! The U.S. Senate passed H.R. 1652, the VOCA Fix to Sustain the Crime Victims Fund Act of 2021 (“VOCA Fix”), with an extraordinary vote of 100 to 0 which President Biden signed the legislation the very next day.

This bill will secure billions in victim services funding.
The VOCA Fix will make a world of difference for more than 6,000 local domestic violence shelters, rape crisis centers, legal services programs, and child abuse treatment programs in every state and territory. VOCA is the largest source of federal funding for domestic and sexual assault services in the country and is not taxpayer funded. VOCA funds come from federal criminal fines and fees that are deposited in the Crime Victims Fund (CVF). This action will stave off more drastic cuts and help local programs as they work to meet the growing demand for services.

The Haven would like to thank everyone's hard work and effort to help the VOCA Fix to Sustain the Crime Victims Fund Act of 2021 (“VOCA Fix”). This is a HUGE step in supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual violence so make sure you do your happy dance today!
