A word that is synonymous with November is gratitude. Between football, family gatherings, the leaves changing colors, sweater weather, and warm autumn beverages what are you thankful for the most?

The Haven is thankful for the opportunity to serve individuals and families in need and even more thankful for a community that continues to support our work.
October was an extremely busy month for us since it was also Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

It was great to see so many folks at Warsawfest and get plenty of pictures with our purple heart in solidarity of survivors.

We partnered with Just Harvest, First Baptist Church in Tappahannock, and the Virginia Free Farm at Spotted Pig Holler to present a workshop on winter gardening and Indigenous foodways!

We hosted our Souper Chili Cookoff which was a huge success that has people looking forward to next year!

Everybody had a ghoulish time at our BINGO fundraiser.

Lastly, our Shop 'Til It Stops Sale at Pearl Boutique in Kilmarnock was another success!

With support from the community, The Haven was able to raise $10,400+ from events this past month.
Congratulations to Joel Knight of Knight Chiropractic for defending his championship title at our 2022 Souper Chili Cookoff. He's a real "souper" hero!
