It's bat season once again. This time of year, we find bats are looking for a safe dwelling to hibernate over the winter. Big Brown bats often roost in buildings and are found statewide in Nebraska. They are encountered more often than any other species in the state. From early November to April, Big Brown bats hibernate. Is your home ready for the upcoming cold season? Cold weather presents unique issues in getting rid of pest from clients homes. We have to capture the critter and clean up its mess, but we also have to find out how it entered the home, and how to close off that entryway. To do this, we’ll need to examine the inside and outside of your house from top to bottom. During our inspection, we are looking for holes in the foundation, gaps in window and door frames, missing chimney caps and damaged or rotted material on the roof and siding. Winter, with its accompanying snow and ice, can make this inspection difficult, if not dangerous, especially when ladders are involved. If you suspect that pesky animals have invaded your home, don’t try to address the problem alone. If you fear there is a pest in your home now or want to make sure to keep them away for the upcoming colder months, contact us today.
