Vol. 7. Issue 36

Can you believe it, we have already come to the end of the 2019-2020 school year. We congratulate all students who have successfully completed another year of school, but we would particularly like to congratulate our Grade 5 and Grade 8 students. This week our Grade 5 students graduated from our Elementary School and our Grade 8 students graduated from Middle School! Students received their diplomas at the closing ceremonies are now very much looking forward to starting their new adventures in our Middle and High Schools next school year.

Well done to all Student Council (STUCO) members in both Elementary and Secondary Schools who have made this year a success. We are sad to have to say farewell to our Elementary STUCO leader Ms. Ana Nunes, as she will be relocating out of the Netherlands. We thank her for her dedication to the Elementary STUCO over the past five years.

One of the wonderful aspects of an international school is that people from all around the globe join together to form a very special, tightly knit community. It's exciting to welcome people from different countries, make new friends and have the opportunity to enrich our lives in ways that only an overseas experience can afford. For better or for worse, this also means that people move on and we have to say good-bye. So as we arrive at the last day of the school year, it is the nature of international schools that we will be saying goodbye to a number of staff and students. Every single one of these staff members and students have left their mark on our school and NAISR is a better place because they were here. We wish them and their families well as they embark on their new adventures. Please keep in touch, and know that our doors are always open to you.

One specific person that we would like to mention at this time is our Director, Mr. Neal Dilk, who is relocating out of the Netherlands after eight years as Director of NAISR. We wish him and his family all the very best and thank him for everything that he has done for our School. Good luck in the next chapter of your career, Mr Dilk!

We would also like to extend our thanks to the entire NAISR community for the way you continue to support our school, our teachers and our students. We wish you all a wonderful summer, wherever you may be. For those of you who are returning to NAISR in the fall, we look forward to welcoming you back on the first day of school, which will be Wednesday, 19 August. Information about the new school year will be sent out in early August. You can view the 2020-21 school calendar here.

Please be reminded that today all students will be dismissed today at 12:00pm.

Have a happy, healthy and wonderful summer holiday.
All the best from our family to yours.

Closing Ceremonies
Various closing ceremonies were held this week. The ceremonies, including the graduation of Grade 5 and Grade 8 students, and the presentation of various academic awards, were recorded and shared with families. Let us know if you didn't receive the recording.
2019-20 Yearbooks
Throughout the duration of the Corona crisis, the company which prints our yearbooks was temporarily closed. This means that unfortunately the NAISR yearbooks will not be distributed to students on the last day of school like usual. We expect delivery to be within the first month of the next school year (2020-21). For those families leaving us at the end of this school year, yearbooks will be posted. We apologise for the delay.
Travel Smart
If you're going to travel this break, be sure you travel smart and follow the rules and regulations which now apply (as of June 15). You can find the most up-to-date travel advice in the government's website. We have also included a useful poster below.
S2 Report Cards
An email will be sent to all parents regarding report cards becoming available on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please note that this year's S2 report cards will be simplified due to the fact that distance learning took place for most of the semester. If your child's last day at NAISR is today, please be aware that your portal account will be deactivated towards the end of next week, so ensure you have downloaded your child's report(s) before this time. If you cannot access the portal, please email
Global Campus
Global Campus Projects will continue weekly throughout June, along with some summer projects over the course of July and August, launching from 6th July! The Summer STEAM project challenges students to build their own schools on Minecraft and the Summer Community Challenge encourages students to positively impact their communities. Also the full results of the Virtual Kilimanjaro climb have been published, with our family teams coming in an impressive 5th and 9th place, and Meredith came in 9th place for her solo climb. Once again, a huge congratulations to everyone who took part in this.  Visit Global Campus >>>
Summer Leadership Course
Our Nord Anglia sister school, College Champittet in Switzerland, is offering Leadership courses over the Summer break for 11 to 18-year-olds. Students will apply learning outcomes across a wide range of exciting summer activities ranging from rock climbing, glacier expedition, and water sports on lake Geneva.
