I've got a new Podcast with the Canadian Jewish News!

It's May 2021 and that means it's Jewish Heritage Month in Canada. Which is why I am thrilled -- and a little nervous, too! -- to announce that I've started a new venture with the relaunched Canadian Jewish News.

I'm the host of a new podcast called, The CJN Daily, sponsored by Metropia.

As the trailer says, we cover news about Canadian Jews, wherever they are: at home, in the sunny southern U.S.A. during the winter, and of course, in Israel. Really, everywhere we are doing interesting and newsworthy things.

The first episode launches Monday May 3, 2021 wherever you get your podcasts: The trailer is already up and you can just listen to it here, or download it and listen later.

The CJN Daily. It's What Jewish Canada Sounds Like.

Here's some behind the scenes details: The CJN Daily podcast will be daily, eventually. Promise!. We are ramping up slowly, at first.

The theme music is by Dov-Beck Levine, a talented Toronto artist and performer. The artwork is by Sarah Zahavi, a graphic designer. Technical assistance by Michael Fraiman, of the CJN Podcast Network. Production intern: Victoria Redden.

The first episode will take you to a national memorial service for the victims of the Lag Ba Omer tragedy in Israel, and you'll hear two experts weigh in on who was to blame, and what lessons can be learned.

Please let me know when any newsworthy and interesting things are going on in your community. I need stories! In shul & school, campus & camp, book clubs & pickle ball, and any organization with letters in their name, like UJA, CIJA, JIAS, BBYO, NCJW, CBB, and the list goes on.

Subscribe to the lively CJN's newsletter. It's free.
My podcast episodes will be in there, too.

In case you were wondering whether I'll be too busy with the podcast to continue sharing my work on the 17,000 Canadians of Jewish faith who served in the Second World War, I'll still be speaking about Jewish Canadian military history, including on Tuesday May 4 at 3 p.m. (Toronto time) at Liberation 75. My talk is about the Canadian troops who encountered the Holocaust when they liberated Europe in 1945.  It's free.
Ellin's coming events:

May 4. "He Wanted to Save Them All": Canadian Soldiers encounters with the Holocaust during WWII. Ellin speaks at Liberation 75 on Monday May 4, 2021. With special guest Bob Delson, son of a Canadian RCAF rigger who photographed Bergen Belsen.
May 26.
Ellin speaks to the Aurora Historical Society about the Liberation of Holland in WWII and the Canadian Jewish fighters who were there.
