Spotlight on Inland Empire Utilities Agency

On May 15th, Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) was recognized at its Board of Directors Meeting for the completion of several energy efficiency projects and received over $250,000 in utility incentives. IEUA's energy efficiency projects were completed using a coordinated project delivery approach utilizing SoCalREN's Project Delivery ProgramWater Infrastructure System Efficiency (WISE) Program and Southern California Edison's (SCE) hydraulic services.
Since their 2015 enrollment in SoCalREN, IEUA has taken advantage of several of the Programs’ no-cost services (such as project management, technical assistance, SCE incentive application support) to complete 6 energy efficiency projects, including pump rehabilitations and replacements and lighting retrofits. These projects saved the agency a whopping 2,690,000 kWh and $295,000 in costs annually! Furthermore, IEUA is currently in construction on projects that will nearly double their current achievements in relation to savings. SoCalREN applauds IEUA’s dedication to a sustainable energy future and celebrates their energy savings to date—which are equivalent to taking 132 cars off the road for one year!

SoCalREN's Pathway to Zero Program

Pathway to Zero was developed with public agencies in mind. Through agency satisfaction surveys, SoCalREN heard loud and clear that agencies need additional support and resources that go beyond energy efficiency and help to build the foundation for zero net energy (ZNE) communities. SoCalREN’s Pathway to Zero program does just that while also serving disadvantaged communities, maximizing energy efficiency opportunities, and driving the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs). Additional benefits of the program include:
  • Serving as a one-stop shop for energy resources and strategies such as photovoltaics, battery storage, demand response, and water efficiency since Pathway to Zero is offered in conjunction with the Project Delivery Program.
  • Providing a customized high-level review of DER options, giving public agencies the information they need to get started choosing the DERs that are right for their facilities.

  • Once your agency has decided on strategies to pursue, a SoCalREN Project Manager will provide resources and guidance through the project process. We don’t just give agencies a plan—we help make it happen!
