Terrace Projections reach beyond the gallery space and transform the Castlemaine Art Museum's art deco façade into a screen, featuring creative works and artists' commissions. Using the medium of light, CAM brings contemporary images and ideas to the streets of Castlemaine.

During the cold dark nights of winter, Zoe Scoglio's Agri-Cultures illuminates the CAM facade with video from the summer and autumnal days at Gung Hoe Growers and the Harcourt Organic Farming Co-op.

Agri-Cultures is a commissioned video work by local artist Zoe Scoglio in dialogue with local small-scale farmers Gung Hoe growers in response to the theme ‘Industry’.

Focusing on the manual labours and tactile relations, this is a visual portrait of the daily regenerative wholistic practices and emergent cultures at the Harcourt Organic Farming Co-op. As a volunteer at Gung Hoe Growers, this commission was an opportunity for Zoe Scoglio to enter more deeply into conversation and to further learn from and attend to the practices of daily care-full cultivation.

Reflections on the Castlemaine Art Museum Collection
23 June 202226 February 2023
Reflections began as part of CAM’s online response to Covid lockdowns. Contributors are asked to ‘reflect’ on works or objects from the CAM collections and history – opening up our art and museum collections to new voices and knowledge.

This exhibition presents a selection of works from the art museum collection, accompanied by a written Reflection from a diverse range of contributors. This series and exhibition represent a commitment from the Castlemaine Art Museum to make our magnificent collection accessible, relevant and uplifting.

We gratefully thank all contributors for their generous texts, many of whom have volunteered their writing; and the artists and makers who have inspired such curiosity and thought. Reflections is on display in the Higgins and Benefactors galleries.
