Educational Opportunities

August 9

​FREE CEU. A social hour and educational CEU will be offered on August 9, 2018 at the St. Louis Park Byerly's store community room. The topic of the continuing education is:  "Cardiovascular outcomes and clinical application of newer antidiabetic agents."  Kylee Funk, Pharm D, will provide the continuing education. Light snacks will be provided. ​Register here

​​November 30 - December 1

The MNNP Fall 1.5 day fall conference is scheduled for November 30 and December 1, 2018 at the Earle Brown Center in Brooklyn Center Minnesota. The theme of this year's conference is "NP practice: Leading Change, Advancing Health." Our keynote speaker is Dr. Eilleen O'Grady. Dr. O'Grady is a Nurse Practitioner who conducts workshops, designs curriculum and does coach training for health professionals, patients and groups of any kind on the topic of revolutionizing self care or the coaching method. She is a nationally recognized speaker in her field.  A block of rooms with conference rate has been reserved at the Embassy Suites in Brooklyn Center. Registration and is now open. Sign up here.

The MNNP Nominations Committee has issued a Call for Nominations for the 2018 elections.

Please consider serving on the board in one of the following roles:
  • President Elect (3 year term)
  • Secretary (2 year term)
  • Communications Liaison (2 year term)
  • Membership Liaison (2 year term)
Any registered member with dues paid is eligible to run for office. 

Student Members and Associate Members are ineligible to nominate candidates, run for office, or vote in the election.

The best boards pull from a variety of career-age and experiences. You can help your organization and make valuable connections yourself. If you have any interest at all, throw your hat in the ring! Don't hold yourself back from a great experience!
MNNP Student Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the $1000 MNNP student scholarship. This award is to support nurse practitioners conducting clinical research or quality improvement projects, as well as students completing their research or capstone projects. The application deadline is November 1, 2018. Click here for more information.

Member Spotlight

AANP selects two awards per state to be given out every year. The NP State Award for Excellence recognizes an NP who has demonstrated excellence in clinical practice. Pat Peschman, MNNP secretary, won this award this year! Congratulations!

The Advocate State Award of Excellence is awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution toward increasing awareness and recognition of NPs. Renee Dahring of APRN coalition won this award!
