Special Update 26th October 2020

Clinical and Company Director Carys Roberts

Change to Tier Status

Due to our location and the distance our Clients travel to access our services we have been getting questions about what happens if we, or our client's Tier status changes.

The long and short of it - NOTHING!

This is not us being complacent or taking unnecessary risks but to quote our Professional Bodies:

"There is no area or Country in the UK where healthcare is restricted"
Since the pandemic started in March we have worked tirelessly to ensure we have excellent infection control procedures in place which meet the demands of the highest level of lockdown / Tier status, which has been confirmed by the surveys on client safety we conducted.

Throughout the pandemic, the risk assessments and measures I have put in place have been done so with the sole aim of being able to remain open safely during future lockdowns and spikes in infection rates locally.

We did not fully close during the first lockdown but remained open with skeleton staff and a change to our operating procedures to ensure safety and that those requiring treatment could access it.

We have spent the past few months phasing staff back in , increasing the capacity of the clinic and relaunching services as much as is safe to do so. We have constantly reviewed the processes as a team, taken onboard feedback from clients and enlisted external companies to provide independent audits of our processes

As I think we all could predict, the knock on effect of the Pandemic on local NHS services and the abilioty for many of our clients to effectively self-manage their conditions has increased the demand for our range of services at clinic.

Many Clients have struggled, even with our help, to get back to their pre-COVID levels of health due to the detrimental effects of shielding, or waiting on prolonged NHS lists for further investigations/surgery.

Now, more than ever, I feel it is even more crucial for us to safely remain open with as many of our services operating to support the health of our current clients, as well as being there for people in our local community that need us.

Below you can see the list of our services, how each is currently operating / can continue to operate with the increased restrictions that are inevitably coming for all of us:

Our biggest challenge in the coming months is different to the previous few.

It is not about sourcing PPE, training staff in new procedures or keeping up with daily changing guidelines (although there will be more changes again to keep up with we are sure!).

The biggest challenge is for us to work efficiently to meet increased demand.

As we can only operate safely at 60% of our usual room capacity / staffing levels we need to ensure we are working efficiently to avoid the need to raise our prices. This is not something I want to do, although I know other clinics have.

As such we have updated the following processes from 1st November 2020:

  • Cancellation Policy Update
    • (please see booking email attachments)
  • Pre-payment for appointments AT LEAST 24hours prior to session
    • https://swanphysio.co.uk/payments/
    • if it is not possible for you to do so online please notify us via email so we can put a note on your file and not cancel your appointment
  • Price List update

We will get through the coming months together.
