TEXSAR - In the Community - 2nd Quarter
A Note From the President and CEO
TEXSAR is pushing forward and taking every curve ball as it comes during these unprecedented times.

While it's been an interesting ride, TEXSAR remains steadfast and continues to build upon its strong foundation to support its long term goals.  Recently, an organizational structure was released to the membership to help better define who TEXSAR is and how we operate.  Within the chart there are some specific Director positions that we hope in the future will be paid positions, but for now, we have some very dedicated individuals ready to serve and we wanted to acknowledge them for all they do for TEXSAR and will continue to do for TEXSAR.

Technology Director: Charlie Grove

Director of Business Administration: Pam Spann

Director of Business Operations: Nick Nicklin

Director of Marketing and Business Development: Shannon Smith

Division Director: Shawn Hohnstreiter

TEXSAR's growth rate is impressive in its steady rise and the leadership team will continue to do whatever it takes to ensure TEXSAR remains the organization that honors its motto, Service Above Self.

Thank you for supporting TEXSAR.

Sincerely,
Justin McInnis President/CEO

TEXSAR has officially appointed a new Medical Director, Dr. Luke Husby from UT Health Science Center San Antonio. We are honored to have had Dr. Tyler Jorgensen serve in this role for the last five years. Dr. Jorgensen isn’t going far, he will remain a member of TEXSAR and hopefully get back in the field, where he loves to be. We wish you the best and thank you for all you have done to serve TEXSAR, we are truly grateful for your insight, support, and efforts these last five years. We are excited to have Dr. Husby join the team and continue to lead us into new frontiers. TEXSAR Cancels 3rd Annual Memorial Clay Shoot
Out of an abundance of caution TEXSAR has made the difficult decision to cancel the 3rd Annual TEXSAR Memorial Clay Shoot on July 11th. With the state of COVID-19 in our communities we feel that it is best we cancel the event. We appreciate your understanding, continued support, and we hope you and your family stay safe and well. Stay tuned for a new opportunity to support TEXSAR - more information coming soon!
Supporter of the Quarter - Melissa Naylor
Melissa has been a supporter of TEXSAR for several years. She came across TEXSAR through her everyday work in Disaster Restoration. She has a love for giving back and a passion for what TEXSAR members do during some people's darkest of days. She continues to support TEXSAR fundraisers in a big way; she's always one of the first to sign up, bring new friends, promote on social media, and contribute to our auctions. Last fall Melissa hosted a boat party, much like a House Party, where she invited her friends to learn more about TEXSAR and specifically  GIVE to TEXSAR - this event brought in over $5,000! Her servitude falls right in line with many of our members.  Thank you Melissa!
K9 Team Loses Two K9s
We would like to send our deepest sympathies to K9 Handlers Diane Morrow and Gay Crocker. During the month of June we have lost K9 Gabe and K9 Bryte.  Our thoughts go out to their families and the entire K9 team as this has been a very difficult time. Both dogs were stellar at their jobs and loved by all. May their legacies live on forever.

Financial Update - Pam Spann, Treasurer
With the pandemic upon us we expect it will be more difficult to fund raise this year. While we are aggressively applying for grants and looking at alternate fundraising strategies, we decided in March to revise our budget to reflect the anticipated lower revenue and to reduce discretionary expenses.  The original and revised budgets are in the table below, as well as our year-to-date actuals.

As you may have seen in the news, the government approved the CARES act that included forgivable loans for small businesses and non-profits.  TEXSAR applied for and was granted a Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loan of $23,300 and an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) grant of $3,000.  Both will be spent on staff salaries and are expected to be 100% forgiven.

We appreciate everything our members are doing to help us manage expenses while serving our community during this challenging time.
