A Message from the President

As I turn the calendar page to November it seems like time is going by quickly. I’m on the mend from my shoulder surgery. Hopefully we saw one another at the October 30th District Meeting either in person or on the screen.

Thank you to those that worked on our club’s most recent drive-thru dinner fundraiser. I hear there were many helping hands the day of the event and it was a success. A friend’s mother purchased 4 meals and the next day she told me the Brat, sauerkraut and mousse were excellent!

Our Santa Project committee is already making plans. We will be hearing more from them soon.Be ready for a fun evening in December adding Holiday cheer to local children.

In the month of November, we will have our business meeting and the rest of the month is for spending time with family. But that doesn’t mean you won’t receive an email from myself or a committee member 😊

Thank you for volunteering,

Impart Wisdom

SNR Governor: Sarah Carrasco

Calling all Leaders!

It's nomination time. We, as members, will be voting at our next annual Conference for our board of directors. We are looking for a few good members to become candidates. To be eligible to run for office, a member must be in good standing and have been a club president in the past.  In order to run for Governor-Elect, you must also have served on the SNR board at any time in the past.

Any member or club in good standing can nominate a fellow member or yourself to the Sierra Nevada Board of Directors.  You nominate by submitting a completed and signed Nomination Form to by November 15th. The form is located on the region website and included in this E-blast.

Our open positions are Governor-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and a District Director from each of the 6 districts. The term is for 2 years starting July 1st.

Serving on the Sierra Nevada Region board is a very rewarding experience and I recommend it to all who are interested in serving at the region level. Please feel free to talk to past board members about their experience.

More information to come, but in the meantime, you can review the job duties and responsibilities in our Bylaws and our Procedures located on the SNR website or reach out to the members of the nominating committee.

Serve on a Sierra Nevada Region Committee

You’ve got the passion! Who’s ready to take doing life-changing, meaningful work in an atmosphere of friendship and fun to the next level? As you have heard, or will hear at the Fall District Meetings, we need YOU to help keep us the healthy region we continue to be. And, become a part of our moving forward into the next century history. Our region needs committee members to help us reach our big goal…and have a whole lot of fun doing it! Below is a link to the Committee Sign Up Form. If you have any problems clicking through on the link, simply copy it, and paste it into your browser. Filling out the form is not a firm commitment; there is a place to simply ask me more questions so I can contact you to discuss. And, it provides me with a great spreadsheet too! I look forward to seeing how we can perhaps put fresh new spins on our time-honored traditions, and for that WE NEED YOU!

For more INFORMATION about the various committees, what they do and when they do it, I have also included a link to the Sierra Nevada Region Website, taking you directly to the forms page. Committee information is spelled out in our governing documents, Bylaws and Fiscal Standing Rules (May 2021) and our Procedures (October 2020). Don’t delay, sign up today!

The Drive Thru Santa Project will take place on December 9, 2021, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Community Park (off 20th Street). This year families will drive thru and pick up an age/gender appropriate bag for each child. Like last year, there will be two pick up stations, plus a Santa Station to wave at Santa on the way out. Due to COVID social distancing and masks will be required. Please note this event will take place rain or shine. We would love for as many members as possible to volunteer and we will be asking to borrow some extra Christmas Decorations you might have. Watch for a Signup Genius form in your e-mail with more details in early November.   Even though it is still a drive thru, it will be great fun and we will be supporting these families at this tough time of the year.
