Venture College is excited to introduce some of our Fall 2021 Venture College Incubator participants. This semester we had 21 students, representing 20 ventures launched! Keep reading to meet some of the participants and learn about their startups.

Founder: Alan Daniels

Black Lotus Audio

Black Lotus Audio, founded by Alan Daniels, puts powerful, professionally designed sounds into the hands of the community, helping music producers express themselves in new and exciting ways.

"Black Lotus Audio helps music producers create unique and powerful music by providing libraries of professionally designed sounds. Our sound designers are specialists in all genres of EDM including dubstep, Drum and Bass, and their many subgenres."

Founder: Jenny Anderson


Jenny Anderson founded Maggie, an organization dedicated to helping women and their families become financially secure by getting them into roles in tech sales. Jenny is a current Boise State student, who recently pitched at Boise Entrepreneur Week (BEW) where she tied for second place in the 2021 BEW Pitch Competition!
"Maggie connects women from underserved communities and/or diverse professional backgrounds with high paying, hard to fill roles in tech sales. Women are prepared for successful careers in software sales through job training, mentorship + community, job placement assistance, and resources for long-term financial stability."

Greater Heights Marketing

Hailey Fackrell, Boise State alum and Founder of Greater Heights Marketing, provides customizable marketing solutions for small businesses in the Treasure Valley.

The Herb Mama

Boise State alum Jessica Thomas founded The Herb Mama to help other moms and their littles live their healthiest, most vibrant lives. Jessica is an herb enthusiast dedicated to mentoring other mamas in need of support recovering their vitality.

Co-Founder: Amir Abbas Kazemzadeh

Hetrom Technologies Inc.

Amir Abbas Kazemzadeh, Graduate Assistant and Ph.D. candidate in Computing Data-Science at Boise State University, founded Hetrom Technologies Inc. with co-founders Mahdi Mohammadi Ghaleni and Shayan Kaviani. 

Hetrom Technologies provides cutting-edge solutions for chemical industries to solve the existing separation challenges, and improve the sustainability and energy efficiency of chemical separation processes. Their integrated devices offer a wide range of applicability, and were created with a goal to tackle the separation limitations.

Applications for the Spring 2022 Venture College Incubator are now open!

Join Venture College for this 8-week not-for-credit program to launch your venture beyond the classroom. Students discuss their business ideas and progress, learn new startup concepts to build traction, and set weekly goals. 

The Incubator will take place on Thursdays between January 27 - March 17, 2022 at 4 pm MT. There will be a Zoom option available based on need.

2022 Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge (IEC)

$50,000 in Cash Prizes
The IEC is a statewide university competition to develop and reward student entrepreneurs with promising ventures and small businesses. College and university students across Idaho will compete for $50,000 in cash prizes and services to advance their startups. Applications due February 25, 2022.

The One Refugee application is now open for the 2022-2023 academic year. One Refugee is a privately funded nonprofit dedicated to supporting college students from refugee backgrounds in their pursuit of successful, professional, and meaningful futures.  

One Refugee provides educational mentoring, professional development, and financial assistance to over 300 students on 11 different campuses in Utah and Idaho. Their scholars graduate with meaningful experience and transition into the professional workforce with a median salary of $50,000. Learn more and apply here.
