I hope you're having a great week.
Thanks for reading & the feedback from the previous ascent newsletter! (Here if you haven't seen it).
I want to take this chance to share more of our vision for the fall.
We are embracing the opportunity to engage in a PCJH wide initiative - small groups. We are excited about the chance to engage folks in small groups that focus on transformational relationships, study, prayer and service.
Small groups will serve as our main avenue for engaging in deeper conversation, digging into and apply scripture to our lives, and supporting each other through listening, sharing, prayer, etc.
The ascent 7pm Wednesday night gatherings will continue to be a time of intentional community, getting to know each other, inviting folks in, and having a great time together! (What's new?). However, it will be less of a time of study, getting into scripture, and prayer as it has often been in the past.
This is a change! At the same time, we are looking forward to integrating small groups into what we are all about. I believe these groups will really serve our needs to dig-deeper and will enrich our walks!
I will be facilitating a small group for young adults (20s & 30s) at my house on Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm / meeting for 8 weeks, starting the week of September 22nd. We will be studying a sermon-based curriculum. If you want to join - we'd love to have you - this will be a group of no more than 8 people. I'd ask you be present each week - showing up with your lovely self - ready to engage! Email me by this Friday to join.
I really encourage you to consider being a part of a small group! A few other facilitators are leading cohorts this fall - reach out to Addie Pascal to learn more about those groups and if they might be the right fit for you.
If you aren't ready to join a group, we still hope to see you on Wednesdays and for other gatherings! Next spring another 8-week session of small groups will start up.
