CNMI Governor Ralph DLG Torres assumes Chairmanship of the Pacific Basin Development Council

The Pacific Basin Development Council Board members elected CNMI Governor Ralph DLG Torres the Chairman of PBDC during its board meeting last December in Kona. Governor Torres thanked the outgoing chairman, Guam Governor Eddie Calvo for his leadership and support of this important council over his tenure as chairman.  

“It’s a great honor to be provided this opportunity to advocate for our region in advancing economic stability and resilience.”  

“The next decades will showcase the importance and beauty of the Pacific and PBDC will be critical for all our islands to continue the work of supporting greater standards of living for our peoples.”

Guam Governor Lou Leon Guerrero was inaugurated as Guam’s first woman governor on January 7, 2019, and vowed to prioritize and implement a “top-down” review of the territory’s financial health.
