Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States with full force in March 2020, powerful images of health-care workers under incredible strain have come from communities across the country. At the same time, the public-health crisis has hit some much harder than others, including racial and ethnic minority communities and rural areas that have long had more limited access to health care.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Solano County BH is celebrating May is Mental Health Month 2021 and our theme this year is “Journey to Wellness”. Our wonderful scholarship recipients are from the UC Davis School of Medicine, UC Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and the UC Davis School of Medicine Postbaccalaureate Program. Each of our recipients have faced economic or social barriers and all have an incredible commitment to serving underserved communities. 
 
We hope that you can join us in celebrating our scholarship recipient's accomplishments and their dedication to creating a more equitable healthcare system!

Encouraging COVID-19 Vaccines in Communities of Color
UC Davis Health Staff and The California Endownment teamed up to create multilingual public service announcements to encourage underrepresented communities to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The PSA's are being released in the weeks before Mother's Day.
