Introduction to Finite Element Analysis of Pressure Vessels and Piping Online Training ‖ 5 CPD (Online Training)

16 to 20 May 2022

  Registrations close on 11-05-2022

No additional software is required
Theoretical course

Training is conducted via MS Teams

What to expect when attending

The course shall provide an introduction to all aspects of conducting mechanical/structural Finite Element Analysis of piping and pressure vessels. The course is intended to provide mechanical engineers without prior knowledge of FEA with the necessary knowledge and skills to start solving design/analysis problems by Finite Element Method.

The course shall include a step-by-step presentation of building the model, applying boundary conditions and loads and evaluating results. The course will present detailed examples of the application of ANSYS in the solution of stress analysis problems of pressure vessels and piping.

Vibration induced Fatigue in Piping Systems Online Training ‖ 5 CPD (Online Training)

30 May to 03 June 2022

  Registrations close on 25-05-2022
No additional software is required
Theoretical course

Training is conducted via MS Teams

What to expect when attending

There are two important activities to be conducted during the phase of piping design. The first is the stress analysis of the system to ensure flexibility and support and the second is the evaluation of the effect of the vibration excitation in the system to protect against fatigue failure.
Advances in the power and process industries have led to the increased potential of fatigue failure in piping, due to increased operating pressures and flow rates and the use of thin-wall high strength materials (resulting in more flexibility and higher stress concentration). The Energy Institute has developed a standard for the assessment of the potential of fatigue failure in the piping systems and this standard became an industry norm for the design of new plants as well as evaluation of existing plants.
The course will present in general the topic of vibration-induced fatigue of piping systems and will present in detail the Energy Institue guidelines with applications. Topics shall include Flow-Induced Vibration (FIV), Acoustic-Induced Vibration (AIV) and other types of vibration of piping systems. The course shall provide a wide background about vibrational problems and practical solutions, the application of Energy Institure rules for vibration-induced fatigue assessment and advanced methods for detailed assessment of FIV and AIV.
