We are LIVE at a NEW TIME 6:30 PM

Back in the Greater Plymouth Community Center
COVID has changed our starting time

The time has finally come.  YAAAA!!    At least for now, we are back live at the Greater Plymouth Community Center.  We are all looking forward to seeing old friends, making new ones, and seeing an actual LIVE Speaker.

One More Thing -- At least until the GPCC extends its hours, we must start at 6:30 PM to run our full program.  Please be on time so we can take care of dues collections before the meeting gets rolling.

January Speaker - Steve Culton

The Little Things"If you want to catch more fish, pay more attention to the little things"

We all understand that fly-fishing basics such as casting are important,  but it is also attention to  the small details of fishing like stream current,  insects, and tackle  that  can determine success or failure.  Steve will share his insights with us.
Steve Culton – and Currentseams

Steve Culton lives in Connecticut.  He is  a fly fishing guide and instructor, fly tyer, and freelance writer. His work has appeared in Field & Stream, American Angler, The Flyfish Journal, The Drake, Flyfishing & Tying JournalEastern Fly FishingFly Rod & Reel Online, and the Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide.  He also writes a website called Currentseams.

Most of all, he is just a guy who loves fly fishing.  His passions include trout, striped bass, steelhead, smallmouth bass, and small streams with wild brook trout populations. He occasionally teaches out of UpCountry Sportfishing in New Hartford, CT. is a library of Steve’s articles, stories, fly tying, fishing reports, videos, his guide service The Fisherman LLC, and more. The site gets regular updates, so be sure to check it out every few days. If you like what you see here, help me out and tell a friend. Feel free to ask questions if you have them. Leave a comment on his writing.  Or just say hi.

50 Anniversary celebration:  Dinner and Auction

December was the 50th Anniversary Celebration.  It was was an excellent event to commemorate our fifty years as a fly fishing and tying club. 2021/22 is actually our 51st year.  We needed to postpone the dinner last year due to the COVID pandemic.  That fact makes our celebration this year even more special. Most clubs would have folded under the stress of the pandemic and  the need to go virtual.  Our club has continued to thrive.  A large part of that credit goes to Todd's excellent leadership and to the board for their work.  In order to adapt to these conditions we are now creating  Zoom meetings to help those who are unable to attend.  Great thanks to Mike Pelegrino for his  work and expertise.

We have been fortunate in recent  years to have many outstanding presidents such as Todd Lustine,  Steve Nack, and Dave Gutsch.   Ed Jaworowski who is a nationally renown fly-fishing and fly-casting writer spoke at  the dinner about the early club history. He  was also one  of our past club presidents. Ed  continues to be very generous and supportive to the club.

After dinner we had our annual club auction.   Same Vigorita did his usual outstanding and entertaining work as our auctioneer.  Below are some of the pictures of the event.  A more complete list is on our face book website.
