Banquet and Auction details
Banquet: The banquet will begin at 6 PM. The cost of the buffet dinner/party is being picked up by the club. You do not have to " sign up" or pay any additional fee. This is a celebration of 50 years of sharing our love of fly fishing, fly tying and enjoying each others company.
If you wish to partake in adult beverages, you will need to bring money for a cash bar. Food and nonalcoholic drink and desserts are covered by the club.
Auction: The auction will start around desert in the later part of dinner. The auction will be exceptionally exciting this year since we had to cancel last year's auction due to COVID. This has allowed members to save up two years worth of exciting fly-fishing equipment. Expect to see some truly exceptional rods and other fishing equipment this year. As is tradition, Sam will be our auctioneer and add his insights and pity comments to all items.
Items for the auction . Items should be bought to the room prior to the start of diner. The room will be opening early, between 5 and 5:30. Try to bring auction items by 5:30 so that members have an opportunity to peruse them. Tables will be set up in the room for the auction items.
Donations vs. Consignments: Items will be auctioned in two categories. Members may choose to donate some/all items to the club. Donated items will be auctioned off and all the proceeds will then go to the club. Consignment items will be auctioned on consignment with most of the proceeds going to the club member . The club takes a 10% service charge and the club member receives the remaining balance of the sale.
There will be table designated for the placement of your items for auction. Arrive early so the items can be placed in the proper location and for club members to have time to review them. Make sure that your items are clearly marked as either a donation to the club or to be auctioned on consignment. If you have a reserve minimum price, be sure to mark that on the item as well.
Payment. Cash or Check. BE SURE TO BRING YOUR CASH AND/OR YOUR CHECK TO PAY FOR ANY ITEMS YOU CHOOSE TO BUY!! Checks are strongly preferred!! Checks make purchases much easier for us to handle.
