Members and non-members alike are welcome at NCBC meetings. Anyone may attend an NCBC meeting and become an NCBC member. There are no educational or credential requirements. We welcome all individuals. We look forward to seeing you there!​  Our new meeting format consists of a 2 hour meeting followed by networking and socializing.

This year, the Breastfeeding and Feminism International Conference will host a Breastfeeding Research Methods day, open to anyone interested in breastfeeding research. 

The morning will be a qualitative workshop, and the afternoon will be a quantitative workshop and discussion.

 
8:30-12
The morning session will feature a qualitative research skill building session. The objective of the this session is to build skills among participants with beginning to intermediate experience. It will be taught by Laura Villa-Torres, PhD, post-doctoral research associate at UNC’s Center for Health Equity Research. Topics for the morning session: research skills including active listening, question design, note-taking, analysis, and data presentation and display. This session is $50 includes drinks and snack. Registration is required on the BFIC registration page.

 
1:30-5
The afternoon will feature a discussion about measurement in breastfeeding research. This discussion will focus both on breastfeeding as an exposure and as an outcome. A key outcome of this discussion is the initial development of a set of principles outlining measurement in breastfeeding research This session will be facilitated by Ellen Chetwynd, PhD, MPH, BSN, IBCLC and Jennifer Yourkavitch, MPH, PhD, IBCLC. This session is free, but registration is required on the BFIC registration page.

Hi, my name is Jennifer LaBelle! I live in High Point, NC and I work at Creative Corner Child Care. I have a two year old daughter and I am interested in becoming IBCLC. I also, look forward to volunteering with NCBC and meeting new people.

 I'm a Greensboro native who is a wife, stay-at-home mom, and homeschooling mom of 2.  I'm also a former La Leche League Leader who is thrilled to stay involved in the breastfeeding community!
