Notice of Funding Availability Now Available
 
Register to Attend a Workshop 

 
The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is pleased to announce the release of the federal 2019-20 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for approximately $60 million in CDBG funds.
 
The NOFA applies to state CDBG non-entitlement cities and counties applying for funding under Community Development activities, Special Allocations for Economic Development, Colonia, and Native American Communities.
 
The application must be accessed through the eCivis portal - Programs Available for Solicitation page
 
Applications can be submitted through the eCivis portal
beginning 9:00 a.m. February 14, 2020.
 
Application due dates are listed in the NOFA


Register to attend a CDBG NOFA workshop

Join HCD for a workshop to learn about the 2019-2020 CDBG NOFA. Staff will be on hand to offer guidance, provide feedback, and give answers to your questions about the CDBG program and the new Grant Management System that will be used to accept applications. Training will be provided in a classroom setting and will include the following topics:
  • CDBG Competitive Program Applications: Readiness and Threshold
  • CDBG Over-the-Counter Applications: Readiness and Threshold
  • GMS Application Functionality
  • Deadlines and timelines
Expectations: HCD strongly encourages that all workshop participants review the CDBG 101, CDBG Redesign, CDBG Procurement, CDBG Environmental Review, and CDBG Grant Management System training videos and presentation materials available on the CDBG webpage under training Assistance.
 
Technical assistance will be provided by staff after each workshop.
