For the FM Radio broadcast, you need to be within 1200 feet radius of the Church to tune-in.

THE PHO IN BRIEF:
(Only those that pertains to us as a Church community.)
  • Effective December 10, 2021 to January 31, 2022
  • Faith-based organizations allowed to resume in-person worship services
  • Limited to 50% capacity in the place of worship
  • All participants over the age of 11 are vaccinated
  • Virtual or drive-in services can be held without  a check of vaccination status.
IMPLEMENTATION:
  • The Cathedral has the full capacity of 750 people for the main Church and 50 for the choir loft.  Hence, we are able to accommodate 400 people in every Liturgical celebration.  
  • The Cathedral will continue with its usual weekday and Sunday Masses. Weekday Mass (Monday to Friday, 12:10 PM, Saturday, 9:00 AM) Sunday Masses (Saturday, 5:30 PM Vigil Mass, 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM).  PLEASE NOTE THAT BEGINNING ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2021, we will return to the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses every Sunday.
  • COVID Safety Protocols will be observed:
    • wear a face covering or mask
    • sanitize hands as you enter the main Church
    • maintain physical distancing and do not congregate
  • Sunday Masses will continue to be available LIVESTREAM via our Facebook Page and broadcast via FM Radio 102.5 for those who prefer to pray the Mass outside the Cathedral and inside their vehicle.  Holy Communion will be distributed at the appropriate time in the Liturgy. 
  • NH regional Public Health Order is posted on the door of the Cathedral for your guidance.

EVENING PRAYER II, Advent Reflection and Songs on Gaudete Sunday

On Sunday, December 12, the Third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday, Fr. Rector will lead us in praying Evening Prayer II and share Advent reflections. Several musicians will assist in songs.  Bishop Stephen Jensen will also be present in this event and will give us his blessing.

All are welcome to come and pray with us.  It will also be available LIVESTREAM via our parish Facebook page and FM Radio broadcast 102.5.

This will be a good opportunity to prepare spiritually for the coming feast of Christmas.   
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER IN SOLIDARITY WITH INDIGENOUS PEOPLES - DECEMBER 12
The Canadian Catholic Indigenous Council, founded by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) in 1998, proposes that the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12) be a National Day of Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples.  

We are all invited to join our Indigenous sisters and brothers in a special way this day through prayer and acts of solidarity.  

Let us pray for healing, reconciliation and a spirit of moving forward together.
SACRED HEART SCHOOL EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE CATHEDRAL ON MONDAY, December 13, 2021
Please be informed that on Monday, December 13, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM except for the 12:10 PM Mass, Sacred Heart School will be inside the Cathedral for video and sound recording of this year's School Christmas' concert.  Therefore, to ensure a smooth flow of this special activity, those who will come to the Cathedral for noon Mass are asked to come at 11:45 AM and leave right after the Mass. Thank you for your cooperation.

2021 SIMBANG GABI (Filipino Night Mass)
Fr. Rector invites everyone to join in observing this year’s Simbang Gabi* from December 15 – 23 at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Mass starts at 6:30 PM.

As per the revision of the PHO, we are now allowed to have the assembly inside the Cathedral.  Please read Covid safety protocols above.

In Canada, there are two Holydays of Obligation:
  • January 1, Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God;
  • December 25, Solemnity of The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)
CONFESSION TIMES DURING THE CURRENT RESTRICTIONS 
Priest will be available for confessions half hour before the 5:30 PM (Vigil Mass) and the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass.  That means, confession times will be:
 
5:00 PM Saturday
9:30 AM Sunday  

If the schedule above does not meet your availability, please phone the parish office to arrange with your personal schedule of confession with a priest. 
SUNDAY MISSAL
COPIES OF 2021-22 SUNDAY MISSAL are now available in the parish office.  The suggested donation for each is $10.00 to cover cost of shipping and handling.  Getting a copy of Sunday Missal should help you in preparing for Sunday Liturgies.

 
THE WORD AMONG US
Copies of The Word Among Us Advent edition have arrived.  For those of you who wants to get a copy, please go the parish office during office hours.  Cost is by donation.  This resource is for your daily meditations for the Season of Advent.
NEW SET OF ENVELOPES FOR SUNDAY OFFERING
If you are Church envelope users, new set of envelopes has been prepared for you for the year 2022. It will be available in the church foyer this weekend.  Please pick up yours.  You will notice that your donor number has changed.  It is because of the fact that there are minimal set of envelopes available since many had opted to donate electronically.

Those who are giving their donation via PAD, e-transfer, Canadahelps and credit card will NOT be issued a new set of envelopes.  This is part of our cost cutting and stewardship.

If you want to be issued a set of donation envelopes, please let us know thru phone call (250-564-5225) or e-mail (secretary@shcpg.ca).

WEEKLY UPDATE: CALLED TOGETHER: GIVING, SHARING, SERVING 
Many thanks to all who completed a pledge form and donated towards our goal as a parish family.  We have reached our goal of $ 15,586.  To date, we have a total pledged of $23,315 of that amount, $20,785 has been received.  
 
We thank you for your continued generous support.

Please remember you can continue to give to the Diocesan Appeal.  Any amount received exceeding our parish goal will be returned to our parish 100%.  As of this week, $7,729 is our parish rebate if all pledges will be fulfilled.

Sacred Heart School Parent Support Group is currently having a 50/50 Fundraiser, “For the Love of Music” to support our new music / band program at the school. The winner of the 50/50 draw could win up to $10,000! The winning ticket will be drawn on Thursday December 17th. Sacred Heart School is looking forward to recording our virtual Christmas Concert coming up on December 13th. We will have many other activities throughout our final week of school coming up before the Christmas break, with theme days each day, a hot turkey lunch provided by the Parent Support Group and our final school Mass on Friday December 17th.

We are looking for people who are interested in working at the school on an on-call basis, both for Teachers Teaching on Call, and for people who are interested in working as an Educational Assistant on Call. If you are interested, please contact Principal Bryan MacLean directly at bmaclean@cispg.ca, thank you for your interest in these positions.
