SUNDAY OF THE WORD OF GOD
In the Apostolic Letter Aperuit illis, Pope Francis instituted the Sunday of the Word of God, which is celebrated on the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time.

"Devoting a specific Sunday of the Liturgical Year to the Word of God can enable that Church to experience anew how the Risen Lord opens up for us the treasury of His Word and enables us to proclaim its unfathomable riches before the world." - Pope Francis, Aperut illis, 2

REMINDER TO OBSERVE HEALTH/SAFETY PROTOCOLS
As of today, our COVID-19 restrictions are now the same as the rest of the province.  We may now have 50% capacity with mixed vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Masks are required but can temporarily removed by priests, lectors or for singing a solo where physical distancing is observed.

As a safety precaution and so that we ensure that everyone who comes to attend Mass at the Cathedral feel safe in terms of the spread of the Corona Virus, I would like to remind everyone to please continue to observe the following:

- Wear your face mask or face covering as soon as you enter the Church’s door and always wear it; My personal sharing on this regard – I was negligent to wear face ask and have welcome guests at my mom’s place, it did not take long, and I was infected.  I was sick for days only because I did not observe properly the wearing of face mask.

- Receiving the Holy Communion.  If you know that you will receive through your tongue, PLEASE line up towards the end of the line OR when those receiving through their hands have finished their reception of Holy Communion.  By doing this, every one is being respectful with everyone; Many parishioners have expressed to me that they are not comfortable when Holy Communion is distributed through tongue.  As a way of addressing that concern, I am requesting those who are receiving Holy Communion through tongue to be the last to receive.

- Before or after Mass at the foyer or any other areas in the Church. Please do not congregate.  As you enter the Church before Mass, please proceed right away to your chosen pew.  After the Mass, please proceed right away to your vehicle.  Do not congregate in the foyer at any time.

You are being requested to observe the above instructions so that we can continue to create a safe place for everyone in terms of the spread of the Corona Virus.

Let’s do the above out of care, love and concern for one another and our faith community.  Hopefully, as we do, the spread of the Corona Virus is minimized and that eventually, we will be able to return to a more “normal” way of worship and interaction.  Meanwhile, knowing that we are still in time of pandemic, let’s all do our part consciously and responsibly.

If you are Church envelope users, new set of envelopes has been prepared for you for the year 2022. It will be available in the church foyer this weekend.  Please pick up yours.  You will notice that your donor number has changed.  It is because of the fact that there are minimal set of envelopes available since many had opted to donate electronically.
