Thank you for your collaboration throughout this challenging year. To show our appreciation, we'll be giving out gifts to haulers at the scale house on Monday, December 14 (while supplies last).
Hiring: R&E Center Manager
Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic leader to serve as manager of the R&E Center. Learn about the position here. The position is open until filled, but initial review of applications will occur on December 14. Please share with potential applicants!
Holiday Greenery and Decorations
It’s that time of year when holiday decorations can become waste. Please note the following:
Ramsey County residents can recycle holiday trees at the four county yard waste sites that accept branches, trees and shrubs. Washington County residents can recycle these items at a designated drop-off site. (Due to the threat of Elongate Hemlock Scale, an invasive tree insect, it is recommended that trees and greenery be disposed of as soon as they have been removed from the home and not left outdoors.)
Holiday decorations, such as real and artificial holiday trees, wreaths and other greenery, are accepted at the R&E Center.
Multi-Unit Residential Now Eligible for BizRecycling
BizRecycling has expanded to include multi-unit residential properties. This means that multi-unit residential property owners and managers can now take advantage of the resources available through BizRecycling, including free consultations with recycling experts, free resources and grants to help reduce waste and expand or improve recycling collection. Grants of up to $10,000 are available for properties with 5-20 units, and grants of up to $20,000 are available for properties with over 20 units. Learn more at BizRecycling.com.
Fire Rover
We’ve installed Fire Rover equipment at the R&E Center. This technology scans the tipping floor to detect abnormal hot spots. If a hot spot is detected, the system dispenses firefighting foam to prevent a fire. The new system is in operation 24/7.
