It was in the summer when flowers are in full bloom, the aspen have leafed out, the sky is bright blue, and the days are long. Another couple stayed in the cabin for the week to rest after a hard year.
Michael has been a pastor of a large church for twelve years but had been praying for possibly taking steps toward becoming a chaplain in the military. He and his wife have four children, of which one is a special-needs child and the youngest an adopted baby. The next step would be to tell the elders of the church and then step out in faith—a daunting challenge.
Two days before going back home, Michael got up early in the morning to climb Byers Peak which looks over the Fraser valley. It was a beautiful day. The view from the top was beautiful. God confirmed His call to Michael, to take the next step in becoming a chaplain. After wrestling with the decision for quite a while, it was a relief to know for sure which direction to go from here.
