We have many things to be thankful for as we approach another Thanksgiving Day. And we are mindful of the fact that it is a choice: to be thankful or to grumble. Having Jesus in our lives, trumps everything else and therefore we can choose to be thankful, always.
God has met the needs of Shekinah Ranch this year, and many times in some unexpected ways. One of them was Jacob, a retired military man who was working in the national park near us. Don met him at church, and Jacob ended up servicing all our machines so that they are in as good shape as they have ever been.
Don’s health and capacity to work has diminished enough that we are actively praying and looking for younger people to step in. We met a couple at a conference last month who are interested in helping. Duane and Jayne are former missionaries, with a heart for this kind of ministry. They seem like a perfect fit for many reasons. They are praying about their involvement in Shekinah Ranch and are starting to raise support. Living up here is expensive, so whoever ends up serving here will need a good support base. If you are interested in helping to support a Shekinah Ranch worker, please let us know.

We are also looking for someone to help us with social media. Someone with a heart for Shekinah Ranch, the skills to post pictures and/or short messages on different platforms, and the willingness to make a commitment to serve in this way.
A year ago, a dear friend and a board member died, and another board member felt the need to resign. Last summer, we added Brian Weber to the board as a Director Candidate. He and his wife have a ministry in Uganda (see last November’s update), and they have blessed Shekinah Ranch tremendously. Brian will be a great addition to the team.
After a fully booked schedule May-Sep, we don’t have any bookings right now. It’s a good time to focus on writing down our vision and needs in more detail. We want to discern God’s heart for this ministry and the direction He wants to take it in. Please pray for wisdom. If you are in full-time Christian ministry, now is a great time to consider spending a week at Shekinah Ranch—the calendar is almost fully open this winter. It's beautiful up here. The cabin is winterized and the roads are kept open throughout the year.

From the guests

The Lord has met us here. Even coming onto the property, and stepping into this cabin, we could feel the Lord's presence.

We have been blessed by this beautiful cabin. Every need has been accounted for and we are so grateful for the silence and solitude. The Holy Spirit has met us here in mighty ways. He has connected and confirmed themes for each of us individually and as a couple.

December 7 is Colorado Gives Day. If you are thinking of giving to a non-profit on that day, would you consider us?
