There were a couple of days up here that it looked like we were living in the Smoky Mountains. Smoke from California and Colorado fires almost totally blocked our view of the mountain peaks. The sun shone through a veil of smoke. The air was hard to breathe (at least for someone like Mari, who has mild asthma). Everything has been so very dry. So, we were thankful for a rainy day yesterday.

In our last update, we indicated that framing would start in a few days. Alas, as it so often happens, the framing crew wasn’t quite ready to start at Shekinah Ranch. The latest word is that they will for sure come on Tuesday.
The last few weeks, we have had a good young man from the church, Will, learning to drive the dump truck and operate equipment. Above is a picture of his work area—he loads pit run on the dump truck and drives it to Shekinah Ranch, and he separates gravel. He is working to pay for his first car. He is a conscientious worker and has been a great help.
Shekinah Ranch was again blessed by a donation of various things from a business that’s closing its doors. Above is a sturdy work table that will serve us well for years to come.
The same small engine repair business sold us chainsaw chain sharpening tools for a fraction of the cost, and blessed us with extra chains and pools of new chain. Should someone come along who would like to earn a few dollars and bless Shekinah Ranch as well, it’s all set up and ready.

As you may remember, the shop was built a few years ago, and it’s been worked on slowly. Rob is finally getting the office countertop done (not quite finished in the picture above). Rob is a skilled finish carpenter, and we are thankful for everything he has done. He will also help the framing crew.
We appreciate your interest in and prayer for Shekinah Ranch, and we always welcome any comments or questions.
